Why is it that the grass is green...........

"Why is it that the grass is green,
And why, the wind, never seen"

Read this line while still in school,
And I was still a

Stuck in my mind all these years,
Wherever I have been

I now share this line with you,
Especially you, my queen

Live today as if it is your last
For tomorrow will soon be in the past

Hi ltw: I think those lines are from the following poem which was written by an 11 yr. old:

I wonder why the grass is green,
And why the wind is never seen.
Who taught the birds to build a nest,
And told the trees to take a rest?
When the moon is not quite round,
Where can the missing bit be found?
Who lights the stars when they go out,
And makes the lightning flash about?
Who paints the rainbow in the sky,
And who hangs the fluffy clouds so high?
Why is it, I suppose,
That no one will tell me, if they know?

The date of the poem you quoted is Nov 05 1999. I read that line in a school book more than 30 years ago. Just that line, no poem.
