The stinky bean tree is a very tall tree and can grow to 40 to 50 feet in height. As such, the harvester has to climb up the tree. What makes it more difficult is that the pods are at the end of the branches. As such, the pig-tail macaque monkey has often been used to harvest the pods. The bean, stinky as it is, is a delicacy in my country. It is usually taken fried with chilly paste and prawns.
I was hiking at the MacRitchie Reservoir in Singapore two weeks ago when, to my surprise, I saw stinky beans hovering above the water of the lake. My conclusion is that, like the branches of the rain tree, the branches of the stinky bean are attracted to water.

I always enjoy pictures of water..... and you add such interesting details.

I wonder if those stinky beans can be cooked in an instant pot?

Not sure what will happen if they are put in a pressure cooker. What I can tell you is after eating the beans, the breath stinks and even the urine stinks.

Great set of pictures, Lee. Thanks for posting them.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.
