On chatter that is endless....

I am certainly not a metaphysician, and I am also not what the conventional world calls a psychologist, perhaps I am part homespun front-porch philosopher and part storyteller....

When the days pass and I am alone during the daylight hours my mind has way too much time to chatter-- and chatter it does. Every once in a while I catch myself "running on" in the chambers of the "I" that is me, I then try very hard to shut the "I" down. When most of the inner noise subsides I try to focus on only what I am doing at the moment.., often that is some little project in the garden. I try to only do the pruning of the plant or the digging in the soil. Then when I am successful quiet ensues and its so unusual and pleasant that I wonder why I dont do this more often- not realizing that I just started up the chatter machine again.

Being just an old cowboy I am sure others more wise than I have had the same experience, think? Would you care to share a thought or two on this topic..??

Ann: Sorry, my dear, this was neither short nor precisely to the point...

Karen: I had to laugh, 'cause every little once-in-awhile I kinda think others might hear... I wonder...Much thanks for the welcome!

Ann: I think I don't resent the chatter, it just gets tiresome sometimes and the "peace?" that comes from just thinking about what I am doing NOW is really kinda nice. Many thanks for your comments it does make me feel welcome.

Pollyanna: I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your loved one, I recently had to deal with many of the same types of feelings when my son passed away at about this time last year. I think you and your son are very brave and I'd guess walking in a very good direction. I surely can't imagine what an old joker like me could do to help but feel free to let me know if you think I can. i just loved, "...the frozen stare thing...", how very true!
