Just thinking....

Hello dear readers. I am back. I have been gone too long. I have been pondering my existence. Searching for the Truth.... Well, so much for that.

Halloween. Thanksgiving. Come and gone. The days are growing shorter. All downhill for 20 more days until the Winter Solstice. Christmas is a sparkin'. I love Thanksgiving. I think that it is the true American Holiday. Family. Friends Food. No great expectations. Just that. But, Christmas on the other hand, sets us apart. Rich and poor. Christian. Jew. Muslim. Buddhist. Atheist. We are not all in it together. And for those of us who do celebrate Christmas, there are some clear expectations. And then, there are the office parties with "Yankee" swaps and other get togethers. Too much. I do like to go to a Christmas Eve service at a church near the ocean. Maybe cook a little chili and cornbread for after. Play some Christmas music. Other than that, I am really not into much more. When my were younger, there was a lot more going on. But, even then, I can't say that it was my favorite holiday. For me, New Year is even worse, but I will save that discussion for another time. Thanks for listening.

once the commercialism kicks in (somewhere around halloween...) it's rush, rush, rush... no time to sit and enjoy / and then it's done and gone! simple IS better. enjoy it your way.
and the way time flies, spring is just around the corner...
