SFF RULE OK , HERE 'S THE RULE , IF YOU BREAK IT , YOU MAY BE BANNED ..DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AS HAVING DONE ANY OF THESE? Harass, threaten, degrade, intimidate, victimize, or other wise abuse an individual or group. (Hate speech on the basis of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, religion or sexual orientation is unacceptable.) I SEE THIS RULE BEING BROKEN EVERY DAY so if it's you and you get banned don't whine about sff being unfair ok |

Unfortunately, many people in SFF seem to think that simple disagreement on an issue is harassment. Or how about my question about the number of Filipinas in SFF as compared to Filipinos? At least one person has objected to my inquiry as racist. I don't disagree with your comment generally, but there is a grey area where opinions often differ.

Hi Tranquilllaaa: I think I understand how you are feeling. I see every one of those rules broken every day, and many other rules too. I never expected to read such rude comments and criticism in a seniors group. The only rules SFF seems to enforce is whether we use the s-e-x word, or if we give out our e-mail address.

bikenski , I don't consider asking a question like that as racist , more a question of curiosity , I expect somebody got on the defensive .nor do I see disagreeing as harrassment , however attacking somebody because of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, religion or sexual orientation is harrassment . I personally have been attacked more than once just because of an opinion I posted on a blog . I was called a lot of nasty names ,was told I must be a lesbian (because I joined sff) lol and all sorts of other ludicrous things . LOL , oh well , not like my attackers are the kind of people I'd associate with .

How come some folks get away with most of the above, and others, who have done none get banned? Please enlighten me.

Archer ...to my knowledge any who have been banned by mistake have been reinstated , the rest are banned because they broke the rules ,whether or not you agree with the rules you sign a statement agreeing to abide by them so like I said , if you break the rules , you may be banned and yes I have been banned because I broke a rule , I take responsibility for my actions

undup & destiny - I noted fairly early on in the game that there were a lot of Filipinas in SFF chat, but I only ever saw one Filipino. I was curious as to why this was the case, and asked the question a couple of times in chat. Someone then posted a comment in my blog stating that even asking the question was racist.

Tranquilllaaa: I have been a member for just a few months and only log on for a few minutes each day. In that short time I have been called a heretic, a lesbian, a racist, an atheist, a loser, have gotten so many disagree votes, snide comments and even received several threatening e-mails asking me who the heck do I think I am. I have never been the kind of woman who just smiles all the time and agrees with everyone unless I really agree with them. But jeeeesh I was just trying to be part of a group and hoping maybe someday to find a boyfriend--I never expected people to be so cruel and I never knew my opinions could have such an effect on people. Unfortunately, the censors can't be reading every post and rescuing everyone, not with this many members.

Mrs.Joe, once again you are right on with this one....except you forgot to mention the poor pity me party they decide to have,followed by the "I'm leaving"...only they never leave, just come back with the same old...same old.
