The fool on the hill (01/20/07)

The headlines reads.........

Twenty-one U.S. troops killed in costly day in Iraq.

21 more Americans lost their lives today and when I read this my first thought was...the fool on the hill...an old song..seems so appropriate.

The fool on the hill still doesn't get it. He is going to send more troops to Iraq and we will continue reading headlines like this one.

When will this madness end?

You must have missed the helicopter that went down this day and killed everyone on board.

Too many "lives" being taken!! To all the Mothers...on all sides...I feel their pain.

I wish there was a way for this to end...amicably for everyone. At this point, I'm sure that will never happen. Someone said the amount of troops that we were sending wasn't going to be enough. (Also, these were soldiers that had already been there, not "new" reserve).

That seems to say to me...that if these aren't new reserve...more lives will be lost. I feel for the Mothers, the sisters, the wives and the children. My God....please find a way...to end this.

I pray for the families of these young men every day. The "fool on the hill" is a stuborn \bass\b and getting revenge for daddy not doing his job when we were there the first time. But also he and his vice president are both profiting from having privatized this war and giving all of the contracts to Haliburton! So sad and they say that this year we will spend 300 billion compared to only 200 billion last year on this foolish war! I just hope he comes to his senses as he will continue in office for 2 more years!! HOW SAD! I wish the young people in this country would take a stand on this but with no draft they won't! Perhaps we oldsters need to start protests!

How does that fool define 'victory' anyway? When everyone in Iraq is dead and every building destroyed (and the U.S. national debt so high it can never be repaid), will that be victory?

What I can't understand is why there aren't any safeguards in the Constitution against a President like him.
