My oldest believes it too!

It seems that almost everyday I am saying the words...everything happens for a reason, and now I have my oldest finally believing it too!

About 3 years ago my oldest , Jeffery, quit his very good, well paying job, to follow his dream. He went back to college, took a part time job, all with the complete blessing of his wife and got a degree in English and was certified to teach. He was also coaching high school baseball at a small school in Indiana. That school offered him a part time teaching position and the head coaching spot for varsity baseball, with the understanding that when a full time teaching position opened up...it would be his.

This past spring, one of the English teachers took a leave of absence and Jeffery was asked to fill in for her. When she decided she wasn't coming back to teach, my was asked to interview for the job...they gave the position to someone else and he was devastated. My and -in-law now had 2 small and needed a bigger home for the 4 of them. My felt like he had let his family down.

Every time I talked to him, I kept reminding him that there was a reason all this happened...he didn't take much comfort in what I said, but I really believe it to be true.

During the time of him sending out his resume, thinking perhaps he might have to try to get his old job back, a friend of his called and asked if Jeffery would want to help coach football with him at a school that has only been open 3 years. This would be the first varsity team for the school...my accepted.
My then found out this school had a full time English teaching position open...he interviewed for it...he got the job...3 weeks ago the principal came to watch the football team practice and asked my to come back to his office later that afternoon.
That afternoon, the principal offered my , Jeffery, the head baseball coaching job for the varsity team.

When I was just in Indiana, 3 weeks ago, helping them paint their new house, my took me to his new school, showed me his new classroom,I saw where his new football team plays ball, I saw where his new baseball team will play and all I could do was smile as my said to me...I guess there was a reason I didn't get that job at the other school Mom....

Yes,Jeffery, there was a reason...there is a reason...for everything!

Nemo,
Mother knows, yes she does. Reading you're blog made me think about how many times my own Mother said those very words, and every time she was right! Congratulations to your Son on his accomplishments.
Have a nice evening, take care, and God Bless You.

So glad your son got the job he wanted. Yes, it is a good thing he didn't get the other job. Wondering where in Indiana he is so I can keep an eye on the team, in case they play our school. I live in southern Indiana in a town called Washington. Ann

Sometimes it takes all of us, to "really" grasp the truth in those words. And there is another set similar to these, thank God for unanswered prayers.

Because many times the bigger picture, the one we fail to see, is the one that is yet to come. Contratulations to your SON!!

You know what Nemo....if all those that sought to take their lives, only waited one more day....one more hour...

Love,
Barbie
