Thanks for the good wishes and especially for the hint reg. "extra chilly" ! Sighhh.. will have to re-calculate weight and repack - but: preparing a trip is already part of the fun. If possible I shall post my adventures in here during my trip. I am slightly worried about this "bush camp" thingey in Kimberley area though... will they have a fairly discret loo there or am I likely to be watched by Australian wildlife at "any time"  LOL (poor wildlife....)

Wow girls, so many good wishes - thanks a lot. I am glad they don't add WEIGHT to my luggage LOL bfpurple.... In SYD it will be Base Packpackers, Kent St. I guess that early in the morning I will just fling my luggage into lockers and do some sightseeing. If you fancy some tea/coffee/beer later in the arvo - just tell me location and time: I be there (you are invited, of course )

Zippy, ok, coffe it is, now if u are going to be in darling harbor around 11-12 i will be there, if possible we can meet at the imax theatre, i think its the easiest place to find well for me it is anyway.. Now who else is gonna join me in welcoming zippy to sydney? Chloe, one big hug coming up for ya girlfriend  xxx

bfpurple, May 13 IMAX theatre, Blackbird Cafe 11.00 am sounds good ! OR we could meet at the candy bar there in the main foyer and decide where to go. You will recognize me easily: I am carrying a grey-yellow little backpack, I am TALL, I shall have pretty short brown hair (= hairdo for the outback LOL ). Anybody else to join us ? (I throw a round of coffee and/or snacks  )

SHORT report: I arrived at Sydney on May,11 where I met bfpurple and SuzieQ. Thanks to these 2 wonderful girls I fought my jet lag in just one day as they dragged me around for quite some hours for sightseeing until I was allowed to hit the hay early evening. The next day I started an escorted coach tour (2,600 km - that's about 1,625 miles) going from Sydney to Adelaide. This trip had lots of detours to places of interest, of course. I did some hiking, too. On May,19 I was welcomed by Charlotte and Les in Adelaide and I spent 2 days with them. Now toddling off to Cairns where the weather might be a tad warmer than in Southern Australia.
