I'M SO EXCITED AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT.....

My grandson Rob is home from Iraq!!!!
Praise God he is fine and ready to start back to college.
We have been blessed and are thankful.

For those of you who have doubts about God and the Christian faith I would like to add:
If Rob had been wounded, no matter how badly, our family would have been thankful for him to be alive and would have rallied around him with love and care.
If Rob had been killed we would have grieved deeply but would still have been thankful to know that when he left this world he entered a better one. Our faith doesn't tell us that we are going to live in a cocoon of protection....it says that what ever we face God will be with us and bring us through it.

I don't think our family is any more loved by God than those who have had to go through the wounding or death of one of their loved ones.
I believe that Rob's work is not done here and he has survived to complete that work.

Maybe I am too simplistic in my faith but I believe that Satan is the source of all the evil, painful, horrific situations in the world and our time here is a testing ground. Will we hold onto our faith even when sorely tested? God offers the strength and a peace that passes all understanding to help us through the hard times.
And if we prove faithful our reward is great.

So I thank God for the joy of seeing my grandson return home to continue his journey and complete the race set before him.

At the same time I ask God to touch the lives of each man and woman serving our country and their families. May all of them find peace in whatever the outcome of their service may be.

We don't see the whole picture from the creator's prospective but it is good when our kids are out of harm's way from the war. My son served six years in the Navy - had been to the Persian Gulf twice and now he's headed for Geogia Tech to get his degree.

1942, Give him a large hug for me and tell him "Thank You for a job well done." I have two nephews still over there. Hopefully they will be home in November. So keep them in your prayers. Debbie, ajumpingmouse1

As a former long term military man I can tell you that your Grandson feels so good to be home. Family sometimes lose sight of how the actual soldier/sailor/airman feels when he comes home. I remember it all. The tears welling up, the large lump in the throat that threatens to choke you, the feeling of peace, ultimate peace and finally that sense of being home, where you belong. It's all so overwhelming. An experience he will look back on and enjoy forever.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.
