HoraryASTROLOGY-IsItTimeToSay-Take This Job and Shove It? Right Now I am so.................Disgusted with my Job. I transfered from WallyWorld where I was walking on Water according to my bosses-I was totally in my comfort zone to Sam's Club where there is no Camaraderie and quite frankly the COS's act like Drill Sergeants. It seems like I am getting singled out for more than my share of Door Greeter and Clothes Folding Duty. (Ugh! Both are exceddingly tedious and Boring...........) Granted, the thought of being a Cashier and working with $$$$$ and the public scared the heck out of me. It's been a challenge. I have not acheived perfection but I have progressed. The question is - Am I being judged based on the Challenges versus the Progress? Will the Job Get Better? When You Are Not Respected, it's an indication that you don't belong there. When a Lesson repeats itself, it means that lesson was not learned and has to be done correctly. The First Time, I didn't handle it well at all. The Next Time, I opted to Leave the Job. I simply walked away and didn't deal with it at all. Dear God - Grant Me the Wisdom to Know the Difference. Hi Star Let me tell you something that I have discovered. There is no longer much respect for people are age. When you are at work take a look around you. What do you see but a bunch of young kids with very few senior citizens working. Are those young kids friendly to you? Now I would be surprised if they were. They somewhat think we are old and kind of dumb BECAUSE THEY KNOW IT ALL. Now as far as management goes it sounds like you are working for the Gestapo. That is the only way those type of people know how to treat others...and you know they were taught that in a management class. Take a deep breath, say a prayer before you walk into your work place and ask God to help you with strength to make it through another day. Keep your mouth shut, smile and respond cordially when you are spoken to. Do you remember Anita Hill? Try keeping her composer and never let them see your disgusted or angry. I have a few friends who are door greeter's and cashiers at Walmart. They seem to like it. But I have been told that there are tons of no no's...so in a way its a survival of the fittest. I hope it helps that I know there are many of us that are not in a good working atmosphere. My thoughts on that are to just hang on and wait for retirement so I can collect all the benefits when I retire. Don't be offended but you sound like a duck out of water and that is a place that many of us are at right now. Plus with the economy the way it is...I just can't stress enough to you to have patience...do your job...and have the confidence of Anita Hill. One more thing, people are age just can't walk from job to job like the our children can or the young 18 year old right out of high school. When you get home at night...beat up on a pillow and say what you can't say during the day. Then take two aspirin and call me in the morning. Smile cause we love you. I'm looking to the future and it's out of sight, only in the end shall I take flight.

This is all a new challenge. You haven't been with them very long. Maybe a break from the registers is what you need for a while. It takes time to learn a new skill. I work in a totally different world of law enforcedment now. There are lots of challenges to making a change. Just hang in there and do your best, is the best advice. Make sure to document issues with management and go up the chain if the things you're concerned about don't get better.
