A Retrograde Night at My Soon To Be Ex-Job Another one of my DumbA$$ Character Defects. I frequently misplace my keys. I used to keep a spare set at ex-hubby's house but he's 3000 miles away now. This time, I didn't lose the keys, I locked them in the car. I went to the car during Lunch Break to check the coolant in the car. The Coolant level was fine but the keys were in the car. Oh Joy! Automotive did not have a Slim Jim. One of the Associates left early and I was expect to complete her job in additon to mine. Double Oh Joy! In addition, there was a special order, a considerable sized one at that. Somehow, I managed to get everything done and felt very grateful that my days are numbered at this job. At 11pm, I was finally able to contend with the dilemma of the keys locked in the car. One of the night workers told me how to pop the lock with a coathanger. I tried it without a whole lot of success. It was suggested that sometimes the local police can SlimJim it open. I called them, Nope! Later on a Deputy Sheriff drove by to investigate what this crazy lady was doing in the middle of a parking lot trying to break into a car. I asked him if he had a slim jim that I could borrow. Yes he did but he had another call and would be back. Happily, I manage to pop the lock before he came back and made it home by 3am. Ferlin the Mutt was certainly happy to see me. Next Paycheck, I am buying an Triple AAA membership and spare keys. This is the consequences of another one of my dumba$$ character defect.  Abracadabra  |

That's too bad, what happened. I've done this any other such things, several x's in my life. Well, sometimes you have to look at it as....perhaps you "were" delayed for a reason?

A AAA Membership is cheap compared to some of the costs involved with breakdowns lock outs etc. As a woman alone I do swear by Roadside Assistance. That and a cell phone are musts for me. They will even bring you a gallon of Gas if you run out which I have done. One time I locked my keys in my car with the engine running now that truly made me feel dumb. But it happens to the best of us. Glad you got home safely!

star, i have a magnetic keyholder undeneath my rear bumper with a spare door key to my truck. in my ash tray, i have a spare ignition key. it saves my butt. i tend to do really stupid stuff like leave my purse in the shopping cart when i am unloading groceries.....after doing that twice in the past year, i am training myself to set my purse in my truck BEFORE i begin unloading groceries.

Star this is not a dumb a$$ character defect!!! It is a life lesson and you have aced the test! We get these lessons to prepare us for the next level of growth.
