Life After Hip Replacement and the Barrister My plan was to take the train to Charleston, West Virginia, uber it to the hospital, get the surgery, uber it back to the train, take the train home and walk home which is about a quarter of a mile from my home. Thankfully, my Higher Power has more sense than I do. Earth Angels crossed my path. A 12 Step girlfriend and a Book Club buddy stepped in. I stayed in Charleston for a week after the surgery for the follow-up surgery before going home. I made new 12 Step friends in Charleston and found an awesome book store. Happiness is not having to use the handicap parking lot, the riding cart in the grocery store, or even that stupid cane. I am donating it to the Haunted Farm so that it can be used to load up the corn cannon. So now it is my time to be an Earth Angel. A barrister friend is scheduled to have hip replacement surgery hopefully in February. It was scheduled today but it had to be rescheduled because of antibiotics. I offered to provide him home care when he is released from the hospital. He said that he only needs help for a few days but I have to laugh. He has no idea what he is in for. I am not a gourmet chef, but I do know how to find recipes on Y0UTube and FB. I know all the at home exercise and I can boss the poor Barrister as women can do. I have already done his Astrological Chart along with a Solar Return. I might have to surround him with crystals, balanced his chakras, and cleanse his aura. So Sunday, we had a dinner date. I suggested the local Pizza Diner. I go there quite often and usually order the same thing every time. A grilled ham and cheese sandwich. He had Manicotti with lots of fancy breads. The next day, he started having severe stomach cramps and had to go to Med Express. Now his hip surgery is rescheduled because of the medication that he now has to take. I probably owe the man an amends. If I knew that he had digestive issues, I would have never suggested the local Pizza Diner. I have the same issues. Manicotti. and fancy breads dipped in wine and vinegar would be a total disaster for me. Most of the items at that diner are on my "no no" list and apparently his as well. My goal is to be his Earth Angel not his tormentor. So tonight,, I was experimenting on making eggs benedict on gluten free teff waffles. I was also watching videos on how to make zucchini inspired manicotti. I assured him that he doesn't have to pay me not even in trade or love me, I just want to help him. His virtue is safe. |

I think I almost perfected the art of making the perfect poached egg but I still have to work on that hollandaise sauce.

The Hollandaise sauce is an art acquired after feeding the screw ups to the dog to hide the unfavorable outcomes.
