Photo Friday - FiretrUCK, FERK, &Fairies My Quaker Girlfriend and I have lobbied and attended protests together. One year I was at the Union Station Food Court. A young man asked if I would buy him a meal so I did. My girlfriend was in a Deli by Judicial Square. She purchased a meal for a homeless man. I took the metro to meet her at Judicial Square and we compared stories. It was a coincidence how we both purchased meals for individuals at the same time. We spent the night in a nearby church with the Delaware River Keepers and made protest signs. It was front of the FERC Building and we were eventually escorted out of the building by police. (Secret or otherwise) What a couple of trouble making Quaker women we are. I DID attend the Women's March. The two protests that I didn't go to was the one in Charlottesville and the January 6th Gathering. Let's Go Brandon, but I REALLY don't buy the idea that Biden stole the election. I DID attend a local BLM protest and created a sign utilizing the WV Governor's quote "Follow the ******* guidelines." This quote was in regards to the pandemic crisis. My sign at the BLM protest, "Civil Rights - Enforce the FiretrUCKING Laws!!!!!" I had it in the window and my landlord suggested that it was profanity. Whatever!!!! Focusing on my Fairies is much more peaceful but a Senior Activist does what a Senior Activist had gotta do. Life of Life's Terms.      Abracadabra  |

Protesting in code seems antithetical......What's the point.......seem you are always protesting Fire Trucks, which are actually good things.....as is sex.....And the "Let's Go Brandon"........Childish innuendo......When you peel back the cover, all you seem to be saying, over and over, is "I'm angry"......which isn't constructive in any way........

I smile because so many people find the word you reference as very offensive..... I believe it is all in the way it is used. As my grandpa got older, I noticed that his language was laced with profanity that was not there in younger years. He didn't seem confused or disorientated, just the added use of "colorful" language that was very noticeable. Your changing it to FiretrUCK is a way to say it in a way that might be less offensive to some people. Many people do that. Your Fairies are very cute. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

A few years back, I was working in a Recovery House for female addicts who had just gotten out of prison. They used a lot of profanity. Eventually the women were all saying Firetruck instead of the F-Word. I would like to think that I had a positive influence on them. good Lord!!!!

Why in the world is saying "firetruck" in place of "fuck" an improvement of any kind? It changes nothing but a couple of sounds.....it doesn't change the situation or the emotions behind it...... What makes that a "positive " influence?.... good Lord!!!! Personally, my main concern is that the women didn't resort to alcohol or narcotics to deal with emotions regardless of the words they use to express them. The story behind "Let's go Brandon" is hilarious. Somehow, I can't visualize the church ladies in the local GOP Club carrying a sign that says "F*ck Biden but I know a retired Marine who has it posted on his front porch. It is all about the First Amendment and Freedom of Speech. Tomato, To"mah"to or Maters as they are called in West Virginia. Heck, Darn, Blast and other words to that effect. Abracadabra

The origin of "Let's go Brandon" may be amusing, but that was a long time ago and since then it has been beaten to death......I just aw a video of a congregation of thousand in a Haggee mega-church chanting it.....There was a pilot with hundreds of passengers who said it at the end of his in-flight announcements.......Right Wing politicians are using it in their election advertising......on and on......So please don't pretend that it's meant as humour......It's just that they have nothing to say of any substance, so they grab onto a short culture-war phrase and repeat it endlessly...... Having an opinion about American politics is not "obsession"......it just seems that way to you because you are devoid of intellectual curiosity..E]

What did Trump steal from you? It's ironic how some folks are offended by the word Firetruck yet rant their "Hate Trump" rhetoric over his language. He is no longer in office. Now we are dealing with escalating cost of groceries and fuel, handing over WMD to the Taliban, dependency on foreign oil and more the creation of more refuges that will have to be tax payer supported.  Republican media didn't preach it at the time, but the Cost of everything BEGAN escalating after Trump Tariffs on Chinese imports began around 2018.Trump had the House and the Senate in 2017... I didn't hear any talk about Immigration Reform, did you?

well if ya knew the roots of the wrd fuck it is an acronym of fornication under charles the king or for unlawful carnal knowledge used doing the revelution as protes acronym so i use it all the time and if it offends i dont care cahnging it to something else is offensive to me
