A Mercury Retrograde Kind of Day

Today I had two medical appointments. One at :45am and the Second one at 3:30 pm. This morning, I on my way out the door and got a phone call. It said, "Greenbrier Cardiology" on my phone. They needed to reschedule my appointment for next wee "Right On!" I thought, I can get home early. I

I drove to Greenbrier Orthopedics for the :45am appointment. It turns out that Greenbrier Cardiology and Greenbrier Orthopedics are in the same building. I walked up to the window for the Orthopedics and told that my appointment is at 3:30pm.

Dang! I totally confused. I questioned if senility knocking on my cranium. I checked my calendar. Orthro at :45am - Cardiology at 3:30pm. I am going absolutely mad! I hung around town, had lunch, and did some chores and drove back to the medical building. I walked up to the window for the Orthopedic doctor, No one there. The receptionist at the Cardiology window advised me that they all went home for the day.

What the FiretrUCK! She confirmed at I had a 3:30pm appointment with the Cardiologist.

It turns out that I not screwing up after all, it the cosmos playing a prank on me.

Sometimes things happen for a reason. It's been hurry up and wait for this problematic hip to get fixed. The Cardiologist told me that the Orthopedic doctor would refer me to him before the surgery anyway. He ordered an echogram and a stress test. He said it would be a chemically induced stress test. That sounds really scary.

The chemical stress test is the only kind I can have because I cannot do the treadmill. The first time I had one, it was a bit scary, but they assured me that they are right there beside me all the while and the stress part only lasts a very few minutes. I felt flushed, warm, slightly out of breath and faint, but that started passing after about half a minute or so.
The prep time and the follow up takes longer than the actual "test" part. One time, I had to stay and have lunch and wait for awhile before they did some more extra stuff. Another time, I had to come back the next day for that part.

That is good to know. I can deal with 30 seconds of flushed, warm, slightly out of breath and faint. Fortunately, patience is a virtue for the before and after. The treadmill would be so much easier if my problematic hip would cooperate.

Actually, I have had both, and prefer the chemical one. My knees weren't bad when I had the first one on a treadmill, and I still had a very hard time getting my heart rate up to where they wanted, and as soon as it was, they jerked me off of it and threw me onto a table to continue the monitoring. Very scary and awkward.
