Let's Go Brandon and the Shanghi Parade

Tonight, I attended our local GOP Club. I looked forward to telling the meeting about my lobbying adventures. The biggest topic of the meeting the New Year's Day Shanghai Parade. It is similar to the Doo Dah Parade in Los Angeles. It's meant to be tacky. spoofy, and humorous.

It suggested that our theme be "Let Go Brandon!" This is the euphuism for "FiretrUCK Biden." We decided to debate the issue "Pro versus Con" along with a secret ballot. I debated on the Con side but the Pros got the vote soooooooo........... a few lefties are going to get offended.

As we were standing in line to our yearly membership dues, the gentleman in front of me commented "Maybe we could be right in back of the LGBT group. I let him know that I am a member of the Log Cabin Republicans. It's going to be interesting.

I am not sure how much marching I will do in that parade with my problematic hip.

Somethings are hard for me to understand.. i don't get it..Of course you will read this as political.. but like most things I say are not political specific.. I can't write specifically about something i don't understand..
You do not seem like an angry person.
Maybe you could enlighten me..about something I don't understand.
What is the attraction to be involved with angry people, If you are not an angry person?.. What is the silencing factor about it?.. Not, that you have be against angry people....But what is the attraction to welcome them?

I had not heard of the log cabin republicans, so I looked it up. Makes sense to me..... everyone should be in favor of equal rights for everyone, period.

Your narrative of who I am and the folks that I keep company with is totally inaccurate.

i said..you don't seem like an angry person.. Was i incorrect?

Yet. you "hang" with angry people...Whether it be directly or indirectly..

i don't hang with angry people.. I avoid them...I can't deal with it.. Whether they be liberal of conservative doesn't matter.

I talk of the "what" that doesn't matter just the "how" to me.....and the HOW in this case is anger.

There is so much anger..

There was anger in your meeting.. and even though you took the con side, you lost the argument to angry people.
How do you feel about that? maybe you could help me Understand.

Once again your narrative about the folks I hang out with is inaccurate. People can discuss and look at a different prospective of an issue without being angry and remaining respectful. It seems like the intolerance is on the other side. . The other side is cliche and if I stayed there, I would still be sitting on the sidelines. I am an activist beyond Blogland and I keep company with folks where I can be more useful. I have been able to manage the town headquarters, become an officer, work the polls (thus insuring the integrity of the election process) and effectively lobby. I don't do well as an armchair critic in blogland.

There were some folks who are in favor of a little "push back" in response to the abuse we've been putting up with. I understand the validity of that viewpoint. . When the main town forgot to put up the flags for 4th of July, the club organized a parade of flags going through the town. Most of the spectators waved the flags as we drove by but there were some who were offended. Oh well. Offending the lefties is nothing new. They are always getting offended for some dumb azzzzzzz reason.

Read what you say...

here's double talk for anger..

The left offends for no good reason.. An offense that has no meaning to you..an offense that isn't directly aimed towards you.. I'm sure the left doesn't give a shit if you are offended or not.

yet you get offended.. You get angry at them...For what? Marching, protesting and speaking their mind? Being stupid and saying stupid things.?

I am not angry at the right.. Yes I am angry at Trump .. Because It's no longer disappointment with Trump but it is still disappointment with the Right.

Once again, having different viewpoints on an issue doesn't equal anger. Republicans value personal freedom and we are not a cookie cutter society. It was the left that got all offended when we drove through town with United States Flags in response to the flags being omitted on the 4th of July. It was more amusing than troublesome. The club opted NOT to use the Let's Go Brandon at the Christmas Parades deeming that inappropriate, but the Shanghai Parade is meant to be a spoof. Most of the spectators will be cheering us on. It's not a matter of running around angry. It's more of a matter of "Enough!!! It's time to push back. As an armchair critic, your narrative is incorrect. You don't understand and you never will.

In October, I was working at the Haunted Farm for a former Democratic State Senator. The Republican Governor was visiting. The former senator's wife was also my boss and not aware of my political leanings advised that we stay out of politics during this event. I told her, "The GOP's money spends too.

You're right.. I don't understand..
You don't do things based on anger.. people you agree with don' t do thing because of anger.. So how could I insinuate you are complicit in an anger that doesn't exist.

Yes i don't understand..
And given your answer to my question
I NEVER WILL

It's not about Anger. It's about the Constitution. I don't have do agree or disagree with someone else's stance on an issue but I am inclined to respect their First Amendment Right to have that stance.
