Germophobia Versus Vaccinations Friday, afternoon, my neighbor was knocking at my door. She usually leaves notes at my door because she's germophobic. She locked herself out of her apartment and I knew for a fact that the landlord was out for the weekend. She left her cellphone in her apartment and needed me to call him. I stepped out of the apartment and she quickly backed away. Dah! Here is a woman who is germophobic and won't get the vaccine because she's afraid of that too. I handed her my cellphone so that she could talk to the landlord but she was afraid to touch the phone so I had to make the call. He didn't answer as I predicted. I left a text. The poor woman was sitting on her porch step looking forlorn. I didn't know how to help her and she's got so many stipulations on how I should help her. I finally noticed that her window was open. So my unvaccinated male neighbor took off the screen and lifted her unvaccinated self through the window. Phobias can certainly make a person's life more complicated than it really has to be. I leave a key hidden outside my apartment and usually have a spare in my bag. I know my shortcomings and work with them. She mentioned being fearful of doing that. Dang! I frequently leave my door unlocked when leaving the apartment. It's a safe neighborhood. Who is going to enter my apartment uninvited? Certainly not my germophobic neighbor.  Abracadabra  |

We all have our idiosyncrasies. Many are concerned with the risks from the vaccine. I was more concerned with the risks without the vaccine. I have a former co-worker/friend who was in ICU for three weeks with Covid. She was just recently transferred to a floor. Meanwhile there were at least three deaths from Covid last week in that same ICU. Abracadabra

Ah, your dandelion is still blooming! Since your neighbor left her cell phone in her apartment, it would be safe to assume that she would not have carried an extra key outside with her either. If she is afraid to hide a key outside of her apartment somewhere near her own door, would she have access to somewhere in your garden area? People with paranoia are so sad because their fears are real to them and they are tormented by them. She might not even want you to know where her spare key is. OR, perhaps she could give you or some other tenant a spare key? Again, that would involve trust. What a delimma, but hopefully this incident will help her make a choice to avoid the situation in the future. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I know there is a risk with getting the vaccination but I can't my life being socially isolated with a mask. I have two former co-workers who came up with covid because they didn't trust the vaccination. One just got out of ICU after three weeks. She is very fortunate. There were lots of prayers for her. There have been several deaths in that same ICU in the past few weeks. Abracadabra

That's really tragic that people with that level of anxiety aren't getting professional help........

I don't carry spare keys with me as my door has to be locked with a key. So I suppose there is possibility of not locking my door if I get really forgetful. It is a deadlock so you have to lock with a key. I also never leave home without my cell. Even if I walk up the street to the street I still take my cell. It is sad when someone has paranoia like that.

I really feel sorry for that poor lady, such an awful way to live. I hope she gets the help she needs.

WE CANNOT LEAVE ANYTHING UNLOCKED HERE. THIS IS A BIG TOWN WITH A FAIR AMOUNT OF DELIQUANTS. I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND WHY A GERMOPHOBE REFUSES A VACCINE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO PRESERVE HER FROM CATCHING A VERY DANGEROUS VIRUS. HOW VERY SAD.
