Political Idealism Versus Political Realism, Sunflowers & Dandelions Political idealism looks at “what ought to be,” and political realism looks at “what is” (even if it isn’t pretty). In an ideal world, everyone would get a pony while Israel and Palestine hold hands as they kiss and dance in the sunset. I am realistic enough to know that isn't going to happen anytime too soon. It is not willful ignorance, it's just the way it is. Humankind is a combination of inherently good (idealism) and inherently flawed (realism). My college class in Political Science pondered on the subject of "political selective morality." Our allies can be SOB's but they are "our" SOB's. If certain Arab nations want to bomb both the United States and Israel, it makes sense for the two nations to team up. In an ideal world the ground surrounding my front porch would be covered in sunflowers . Alas, they don't seems to want to grow in this area so I've learned to love the dandelions.   Abracadabra  |

Excellent philosophy.... but to me, dandelions are a poor substitute for sunflowers.  Might I suggest next year planting miniature sunflowers in a pot? I did that a few years ago and they were beautiful. I couldn't find any seed this year, but I'll try again next year. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Willful ignorance is not difficult to identify, particularly when it comes to those supporting Donald Trump. Trump lied to the American people over 40,000 times. Even when being confronted with the truth willful ignorance persisted as many became purveyors of propaganda. We see this with challenges regarding voter fraud, wide spread ignorance on face masks, the threat of COVID, the impact of a trade war, the corruption within the Trump administration. It's a long list of willful ignorance when it comes to Israel and the theft of Palestinian land and property by the Israeli government, confirmed illegal activity by the Israeli Supreme Court itself. I've witnessed willful ignorance many times here at SFF, including that ignorance from you. That is the reality you need to face.

You mean like Healthcare? Affordable Healthcare "ought to be" in the United States especially since the United States outsources every job humanly possible. Our Allies took care of Healthcare 60, 70 years ago .... they thought it "ought to be" and then they made it reality. And then you have what is. Last year your party ... the party family values, Christianity, Patriotism, the Flag, etc. petitioned the Supreme Court to end The Affordable Healthcare Act with no replacement. What's that, Idealism or Realism?

Our Allies took care of Healthcare 60, 70 years ago .... they thought it "ought to be" and then they made it reality. And then you have what is. Last year your party ... the party family values, Christianity, Patriotism, the Flag, etc. petitioned the Supreme Court to end The Affordable Healthcare Act with no replacement. What's that, Idealism or Realism? Realism is real.. both good and bad.. But the failure of the right is confusing the two Realism has to be real..The bad is never as bad as it seems and the good is never as good as it seems. you got to be able to understand that to be a realist. As as one confuses truth and lies.. realism become idealism. starwomen is an idealist not a realist. because she doesn't understand realism. Most Liberal are more realists ..because they understand idealism..so they understand what's NOT idealism realist need to chew on it before they decide......Most of the right doesn't.... because they are "out to lunch" and their Grace is.. Father, Son, Holy Ghost.. The one who eats the fastest gets the most. that's as real as it gets for them
