Photo Friday - The Letter "J" Jade, Java, Jefferson and His Abode

Otis the Jade Plant - Java Plant - Jefferson in Philadelphia and his abode.

OTIS the Jade Plant came from a cutting from my Quaker Girlfriend's Jade Plant which came from a cutting one of Deni's Church Lady friend's Jade Plant in Maryland. I sent a cutting from Otis the Jade Plant MrsJoe who is another prayer warrior in Illinois.

I lived in Charlottesville, Virginia for a time and one of my favorite places hang out was Monticello - the home of Thomas Jefferson. There are several hiking trails surrounding his plantation. The last picture is the slave graveyard which is not gated like the graveyard that has his mortal remains

My son is also a "J" - I was planning for a daughter - even in the labor room, I was pushing and come on out of there Dana Leona while my LaMaze Coach was telling me "All your energy goes to your little baby girl." Out pops Joshua. Next came Billy and I acquired Step-Son David. I figure with my personality type, I was much better raising boys anyway.

Jade plants are really hardy and practically kill proof. That is why I like them so much.

I have a jade plant in the garden which was here when I came 5+ years ago - I only know it as the money or lucky plant. Hopefully it lives up to its name as I recently gave several cuttings to a local (she managed to pot thirty succulents) who sells her home made soaps, ointments and money/jade plants at the Sunday market. Profits from the sale of plants she puts back into our community kitty/money pot

I like the statues - is Jefferson the statue on the right? Of who is the statue receiving whatever is being offered?

Most United States Citizens would recognize these two historic figures who were founding leaders in the creation of the United States of America. Jefferson is the more slender man with the pony tail, while Ben Franklin is the stocky man with his hair flowing free. The photo was taken in Philadelphia where the Constitution was drafted. I leave my Jade Plant outside in the Spring and bring it back inside before Winter.

Slapping my head !!!! I should have thought of Jade Star, she would have been a perfect J picture. She has gotten so big now that I had to take her out of the kitchen window and put her in the bathroom window where the sill is bigger.
