Throw Back Thursday - Running Events.

Koffla did a satire on Sha'Carri Richardson At The Olympics who can definitely outrun POTUS#45 no matter how much marijuana that she smokes. POTUS#45 doesn't need marijuana to enhance the munchies.

Nevertheless, Throw Back Thursday - The year 1995. My teenage decided to run in the Los Angeles Marathon. We drove to Los Angeles to get him registered. We were standing in line with a man from Ethiopia approached my with his application and gave my $50. to get him registered. The man's name was Berkana. Apparently there were individuals trying to keep Berkana from entering the race. We found out why later on.

Fortunately Berkana choose my who was honest enough to take the money and get him registered. So the next day, we returned to Los Angeles and my entered the race. My husband and I watched the race from a hotel. Joshua won about 10,000th place while Berkana won 3rd place. Considering that there were several thousand running the Los Angeles Marathon. I was proud of Joshua. I was even more proud of the his honesty and integrity that he was able to help the man from Ethiopia get into the race when others were trying to block him which allowed him to win 3rd Place.

Being a winner doesn't always mean getting 1st Place. I have entered running events myself and my goal was never to make it to the front of the pac I am not really built for speed. I was happy just to finish the race.

In the 1980's - I was taking a running class in college and signed up for a 10K run. The night before, I was asked to work a double shift at the Emergency Room where I was employed. Dang! I REALLY wanted to run that race. So I got off work and ran that race. I didn't place very well. Even the guy in the wheel chair beat me.

I've never run in races, but I used to run for fun and fitness......When my youngest started school, got up at 6 every morning to run.....there were no actual roads, so I improvised. I ran the overgrown logging roads and muddy trails and ATV/ tractor roads.....I carried pruning shears in a holster to clear my way and leapt over creeks and once even met a wolf.......

at first it was really hard.....I would get out of breath and have to stop, doubled over in my need to fill my lungs, looking around, hoping no-one was witness to my pathetic struggle, but I improved quickly and I loved that time to myself.....It felt very freeing.......

I admire that you tried ! I would not have attempted it.

Not even if you pay me I would ever run in a race. Thanks to my rheumatoid arthritis some mornings I can't even walk.

My son is going to run a half marathon in October. It's upsetting because I can't run it with him this time unless I get a new hip. Right now it's even difficult to walk half a block.

I am also battling arthritis pain with a hip replacement on the horizon.

Well done you and son I can walk , and walk no problem, but running, no way. The only time I run is to catch a bus, then I end up puffing and panting.
