Different Prospective Equals Same First Amendment Right

Wednesday afternoon - I checked WV Senator Shelley Moore Capito's statement posted also posted on . She intended support the results of the electoral college results which would officially declare Joe Biden as the President-Elect.

There was no major evidence of election tampering which was investigated taken to the courts. The Supreme count would not hear the cases declaring that is up to the States to monitor the elections and certify that they are correctly done. Agreeing or disagreeing with the results doesn't matter - this is State's Rights.

I may get some of my fellow Republicans mad at me but I am with Shelly on this one. I noted there there were many nasty comments to her. I fired off a letter to Senator Capito in support of her decision to do the right thing regardless of the negative feedback.

Shortly afterwards, I got a phone call from a step liberal friend who asked if I could drive him the grocery store because his car was in the repair shop. We often discuss politics but can do it respectfully. We went back to his home, he invited me in to meet his beautiful wife. She is Islamic from Turkey. They invited me to dinner. She cooks much better than I do.

Suddenly, the riots in Washington D.C. happened. We were watching it on television. It was interesting to listen to feedback about the riot from two different perspective and compare them to my perspective.

I have several friends who went to that protest. Fortunately, they kept company with the majority of individuals who came to Washington D.C. for peaceful protest about the election results. Agree or disagree, it's a First Amendment right.

The Capitol Building was stormed which interfered with the Congressional certification of the election results from the electoral college. The Representatives and Senators were taken to a secure room in the building. The police were able to get the riot contained within a few hours and congress was able to get back into session. I was night my laptop watching it. The election results for Pennsylvania and Arizona were contested but resolved. It was 4 AM when Biden was officially certified as the President Elect and will take office on January 20th.

When I was watching the Congressional Sessions, I was more concerned with what is right prevailing versus the election going my way. If we take away State Rights for Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Georgia, West Virginia could be next in line.

The next morning, I was talking to a black liberal friend in Georgia. I commented that it appears that Georgia turned Blue while West Virginia flipped Red. She responded Democratic Stacey Abrams who plays the blame game was coming to West Virginia. One state at a time turning blue. It's not going to happen. I will back black conservatives like Kimberly Klacik who wants to fix what is happening within the blighted communities.

The police were able to secure the Capitol Building from the riots within a few hours. Many communities in Washington D.C. still haven't recovered from the BLM riots that started months ago.

Congressional Representatives and the Senate did exactly what they were suppose to be doing on the 6th.

The beauty of our country is that different people can have differing opinions and voice them. Every situation is construed differently as people focus on varying nuances of the situation.
If everyone thought and said the same things, it would not be a free society.

The beauty of the edit post button is that we can fix our grammatical errors.

Starwomyn, you're making a mistake thinking Democrats and Independents don't pay attention to Republican Media? We know who encouraged what ... we know who condemned what. We know your bumper sticker is BS.

"The best lie is a half truth" says Rush Limbaugh.

The good news is you only have a couple more weeks of making excuses

WTF are you trying to communicate? Do you have any clue about what bumper stickers I have on my car to even have an opinion about them. One of them is from Penzey Spice. Our WV Republican and Democrat Senators did not support objecting to the results of the Electoral College because the Constitution states that the President and Congress are not authorized to interfere with the election. There were quite a few Republicans who were told otherwise and went to Washington D.C. for peaceful protesting. There are several different protests in Washington D.C. every day and most of them are peaceful. That is a First Amendment Right. Sometimes they do turn bad like this recent one did. That still does not change the fact that Congress does not have the authority to alter the results of State run Elections.

I'm sorry that your country is currently in so much turmoil even knowing it will pass (hopefully sooner than later).

I think many, if not most, SFF readers would recognise you meant 'perspective', including sparkleflit. I found the word meanings/distinctions set out below helpful (bold text used for emphasis as per Spellzone) and hope you don't mind their inclusion.

Commonly Confused Words: Perspective vs. Prospective [spellzone.com]

Perspective means a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view, e.g.

Although she was only seven years old, her drawings showed that she had an excellent understanding of perspective.

The novel was written from the villain's perspective.

Prospective means expected or expecting to be the specified thing in the future. OR likely to happen at a future date, e.g.

His parents were taking him to visit prospective universities before he filled in his application forms.

They met to discuss prospective changes to the company's sales agenda.

Tricks to help remember the difference between perspective and prospective -

Perspective and personal start with the same letters. Remember that your perspective is your personal way of looking at things.

Use the word prospects to help you remember that the word prospective describes things that are related to the future.

Sorry you misunderstood my post. I don't know or care what bumper stickers are on your car.

You posted a bumper sticker in your blog ... and that's all it is. You're condensing a complex story into a few ridiculous words ... that's what a bumper sticker is.

And again, in the words of professional liar Rush Limbaugh, "the best lie is a half truth".

Ongoing wide views, formed opinions and mistook observations from opposite sides seems to be what this Blog place has evolved into.

The ironic part is that nothing is gained nor ventured ever in here. Try to imagine what it would be like if the close to 3 million different species of animals acted like us SUPER SMART HUMANS??

But each and every day, posts are made to try and change others ways of thinking and accepting.

As an ambulance owner some 60 years ago. I arrived at a two care auto accident that took five of the six family members lives.

Seemed the drunk in the car behind THEM was reading their stupid made no sense NH>bumper sticker that read, I BRAKE FOR MOOSE!
