Manufactured Outrage & Misplaced Self-Righteousnes

Manufactured outrage is misplaced self-righteousness. We are all imperfect humans trying to do better every day.

I remember when Duck Dynasty's Phil Robinson made it known his opinion of Gays. Suddenly there was outrage and the station attempted to boot him off the show. The family stood their ground and he stayed. Wal-Mart certainly didn't pull Duck Dynasty items off the shelve. They were making too much money.

There should have been no surprise about how Phil Robinson thinks. The family represented themselves as fundamental Christians on the show. If the viewers don't like it, they don't have to watch the show nor attend his church.

Paula Deen did not fare so well. Wal-Mart decided to discount Paula Deen Items and stop stocking her products because she said the n-word 30 years before. Dah! the woman is from the deep south and grew up in the Jim Crow Era. I have heard some of the local southerners say that they know better now. The South has moved on but so many want to get stuck in the past because it's their comfort zone.

There are some folks wanting to give Christopher Columbus the finger because of alleged misdeeds over 400 years ago.

It is also a ploy to knock out political opponents. Trying to ruin someone's career over a 30 accusation? Really!!!! I don't care what the political party is - It was wrong to do it to Kavanaugh when I was a Democrat and it's wrong to do it to Northam now that I am a Republican.

None of us are perfect human beings but the goal is be better each day.

It appears that I was an activist before I officially took the title.

Well, that makes me want to RALPH! LOL

Now you say you understand accusations.. Well, whether the accusation is current or in the past in needs to based on some sort of fact.. rarely when it's in the past does the fact matter as much as the accusation.

It's obvious to me about this Trump/Ukraine/Biden thing... It was all about the accusation....but it needed some sort of fact..
You got to read between the line, and pick up on the most important thing...
The actually corruption, subsequent investigation, and the resulting fact. didn't mean squat didly to Trump. the "Favor" Trump was asking..was not to investigate.
It was made clear to Ukraine..That an investigation alone was not sufficient..
It is stated, in the "favor" negotiations.. that it was imperative that the Ukraine announce publicly that it was specifically investigating Biden and his son...Just like Mexico paying for the wall..It wasn't about DOING IT.. it was about saying you were doing it. Trump needed the Ukraine to provide a fact.. so that Trump could accuse Biden and to give Trump an out..that his wasn't pulling it out of thin air..

In 2016 Trump use Russian interference the same way...not to provide the evidence.. but provide a reason to make an accusation.

Trump does it with everything.. He makes accusations and promises...That are NEVER followed through.. Accusation and promises for Trump are all propaganda.

Isn't it time to stop being a Democrat, a Republican, a conservative, a liberal or whatever other label people want to put on others or themselves, and just start being decent to others, even if they have differing opinions?
Constant attacks and jabs are common for politicians, that's what they do to garner votes, but it has become a lifestyle for too many people and it is creating animosity........... especially online.
Get out and among real people.... you might find nice folks all around you.
Star, wasn't aiming this at you, but at all of us.

I started my response with a joke.. I'm sure Starwomen got it.. but it appears you didn't.

I guess, because I'm the only one .. that "You".....means Me..

It seems you don't have a clue when i really disagree.. My response was in agreement...except I was pointing out an hypocrisy., between accusations and facts.

What you see as my Liberal bias.. IS NOT TRUE.

I hate Trump, but i don't hate conservatives...I hate ignorance, but I don't hate Trump supporters. It's not up to me to determine someones hypocrisy.. I point it out..To see if you can determine it for yourself..
Starwomen sees it in others.. her using "Ralph" Northam shows me, she understands it, and the bias of it. Northam isn't a singular instance, it happens all the time. We must recognize it when it happens.

In no way was my comment in response to anything you wrote, I didn't even read it.
My use of "you" was generic, as in meant for anybody for whom it fit, including myself at times.

Manufactured outrage is a great topic ...

I'm pretty sure Phil Robinson's 'opinions' on stage AND off stage are created by his bosses, scripted, planned storyboarded, calculated and targeted to a specific group of consumers.

Television has one job ... whatever money you have left in your wallet after your bills are paid … it's your television's job to get it.

Robinson is a television personality, a business owner and goes to different churches to preach. I may not agree with some of his preachings but I do respect his constitutional right to do so.

Duck Dynasty ... pretty boy rednecks with Hollywood perfect hair, makeup and painted on teeth ... blubbering the political correctness of Limbaugh and Hannity.
