Lots of Fun at the Haunted Farm

Last Summer, I applied for a job at the local Haunted Farm or at least it will be haunted for the month of October.

I first went to this farm in 2015 when I was working for a Transitional House for women in recovery from drug addictions. It was the first day the women arrived right from out of the jails. Maybe we could scare them straight. One woman commented that it was the most fun that she ever had "clean" aka drug-free.

So in 2019, I find myself retired and always looking for temporary part-time work. I don't want any long-time commitments. Running around in a cornfield scaring people in a young person's game. I was a ticket seller at the State Farm and was hoping to do the same at the Haunted Farm. It didn't quite work out that way.

I have been hired to work in a gaming booth. The severed head toss. It is ironic because of the work experience that I didn't put on my Wal-Mart resume came to light.

Years ago, I was an exotic dancer but didn't want to deal with the occupational hazards that went with that line of work. I started "Cezanne the Clown's Party Service. Dressed up as a spook carrying severed heads gave me a chance to work among the crowd. I would allow the to touch the heads to let them know nothing was going to really hurt them. I explained that we had our spooks very well trained and "most" of them would not hurt them. They were smart enough to distinguish the difference.

Scaring the adults was fair-game. If I went back to some of the aspects of my exotic dancing days, that would REALLY be a terrifying sight.

2015- Halloween, I took the women to a Haunted Barn and a trip to the local graveyard.

You seem to find most interesting part time jobs! Have fun.

LOL! I don't know about a higher level. There are times when I wished I would have made different choices but the road to happy destiny is for trudging with twists, turns, and challenges..

I say that I don't believe in regrets, but it's more like I don't believe it's a good idea for me to entertain them......but they sneak into my think-space sometimes when I'm not paying attention and then I shriek at them and drive them off my porch with a broom ......I'm just trying to get into the Halloween mode here.......It's so easy these days to dress up like a hag....or dress down.....doesn't take much to achieve results......I have a long black-lace skirt that I only wear this time of year.......Every year I serve as the greeter at out haunted house.... Basically, I'm there to keep the hoards entertained and in order while they wait to get in.....and part of the job is to start the frightening experience......LOL....It's much more fun than my previous job of serving coffee and mulled apple-cider at the concession.......But alas, it's only a few hours a year.........
