ForeignAid=ThrowingGood$$$$AfterBad The United States has sent humanitarian aid $180 million to Central American Nations in 2019. The idea is to improve the living conditions of the citizens so that they see a future in their own homeland versus migrating to the United States. The does not seem to be doing any good when the people in this country are risking their lives and the lives of their to get into the United States for a better life. The same scenario happens in the inner cities like Baltimore and Los Angeles. The way that a United States citizen stays of poverty is education (stay in ), stable families, (don't make babies while in ) and employment. Several billion dollars have been sent to these cities yet the drop- , unwed teenage parents, and joblessness continues. Quite often, the gets misappropriated or not wisely used. Most often, it is through the Faith Community with mentoring and tutoring programs that people are able to turn their lives around into a more positive direction. These people seldom stay in the blighted communities but move on. |

The government and even the Faith Community or Humanitarian Non-Profits cannot compel individuals to make positive changes in their lives. That desire has to come from the individual themselves. I remember attending services at the Basilica in Baltimore. A lady was in the churchyard panhandling among the attendees. My thought was, she would have fared better utilizing what the church has to offer by being inside the church versus outside asking for hand-outs. Just my own observation from my own life's experiences. I've seen people use these resources and improve their lives while others remain stuck and continue to blame the white man and society in general.

I wonder if the people, individually (or as a family unit) in those inner city areas were given the option to move out to a small town somewhere, with the opportunity of education and a job, would they go? I know one young couple who got out of Chicago. Of course, he was able to transfer his job, but they didn't like what their neighborhood was becoming. But I'm thinking that if a person or a family wants to make that change, they should be helped to do it. We obviously aren't helping anyone but the big politicians by shotgunning vast amounts of money into those cities, so why not do it one person at a time? As for foreign aid, I believe we should take care of the people in our country first. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

The reason why money is being poured into inner cities is to make those places more viable and desirable places to live. This bodes well for the politicians in that district. The troubled community where I lived with my boys managed to turn itself into a more vital, livable place. The people who wanted to continue with their criminal behavior probably left and relocated to Los Angeles or Baltimore. Others got deported to El Salvador or back where they came from. The problem is that the money to improve these communities does not get spent wisely or the way it is supposed to. The wanna stay addicts move to other blighted communities.

US foreign aid is often dependant on the recipient buying US product. Killing foreign aid means killing US jobs.
