From Goo To Loo By The Way of the Zoo

“Whether or not you believe in God, you must believe this: when we as a species abandon our trust in a power greater than us, we abandon our sense of accountability. Faiths… all faiths… are admonitions that there is something we cannot understand, something which we are accountable. With faith, we are accountable each other, ourselves, and a higher truth. Religion is flawed, but because man is flawed. The church consists of a brotherhood of imperfect, simple souls wanting be a voice of compassion in a world spinning of control.”
― Dan Brown, Angels & Demons

“The purpose of salt is to change the nature of what it invades without calling attention to itself.

We can have all that you mention without the fairy-tale of God.......It's not abandonment of anything.....it's coming home to reality without being hindered by the dragging weight of Religion.........Burn the Holy books......!!!!!

We have the first amendment in the United States which means we don't burn Holy Books. Our citizens have the freedom to practice whatever religion that we see fit. There is no mandatory religion. Still, many people find their spiritual walk within the structure of religion and there is nothing wrong with that. There is a difference between religion and spirituality.

Your lack of spirituality is like a v*gina. It's ok to have one and to be proud of it. But don't walk around showing it off and acting if yours is the only one that matters If you want mandatory atheism, you can move to Russia.

It is a contrast from my Wal-Mart cashiering days when customers would hand me religious tracks and invite me to their church. If I told them I was happy with the religious group, I belonged to, I would get browbeaten and told that I was heading for hell. Lulu is the counter-part of these people. She has the need to ridicule and mock anyone who has any kind of faith. I am certainly not the most pious religious person but the atheist path would never work for me. My life works better when I am part of a faith community.

I really like that statement! As for the word religion, I prefer the word relationship. When I think of religion, I think of rules and regulations and the letter of the law type strictness.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Religious tracks?
How did they peel them off the floor?

Religious Tracts. It was a spelling error. I wrote this blog while burning the midnight oil.

Relationship is the more accurate word. Once a person has gone through Spiritual Experiences, recognizes divine intervention, so-called coincidences (what my 12-step advisor called the God-Shots), ad infinitum, it goes beyond the letter of the law of some religions.

Freedom of Speech? I didn't realize that the United States constitution extended to Canada. Don't the Canadians still adhere to the wishes of the Queen of England? Book burning does not equal Freedom of Speech. It is the tactic of dictators like your hero, Mussolini who kicked Aleister Crowley out of Italy for misspelling the word "magic" in ENGLISH! The reason dictators outlaw books and religion is because THEY want to be the ultimate deity in the lives of the citizens You definitely need to move to Russia. .
