Politcally Incorrect Prayers by STAR!!!

Sought through Prayer and Meditation to improve our Conscious Contact with God

My understanding is that Prayer is talking to God and Meditation is listening to God. Talking to God is easy. Listening is the challenge.

There was much ado about these incorrect conversations with God and how we should not pray about our departed loved one. He's not Santa Claus who a send a never-ending wish list to fulfil nor is someone I give orders to.

I was driving home in a flood and keep asking God, "Please get me home safely?" If I lose my keys, I talk to his friend St. Anthony and usually find them. I will thank him for my humble abode but dang I sure would like a dishwasher and a robotic vacuum cleaner.

Absolutely, I pray about my loved ones on the other side. Ironically, when we are having conversations about Grumpy, I will start finding keys all over the place. It is like a confirmation that "Grumpy is still here and that he is more than okay," just in the next realm over.

I DON'T worry about if I am doing right or doing it wrong! Being right all the time is not a prerequisite My Higher Power can sort it out and figure out how to send me the message that I need to change or if I am doing just fine. I can never shut my brain off long enough to listen but I get my answers when there is evidence of divine intervention at work. It's the coincidences, being in the right place at the right time, the right people showing up and watching the cosmos clink into place.

My conversations with my Higher Power are about anything, anybody, anywhere, anytime.

My prayer is appreciation and my listening is joy.

    Quoting starwomyn:
My conversations with my Higher Power are about anything, anybody, anywhere, anytime.
That is how relationships are formed, and simply put, Christianity is a relationship with God, through his Son, Jesus the Christ.
I believe God is more interested in how much we communicate with Him than the form we use to do it. I also believe that when people pray for the deceased, they are really doing it more for their own benefit than the dead.
And I believe that no one has the right or should criticize or critique how someone choses to pray.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
