Those TERRIBLE reminders of the Confederacy. I was watching a documentary on the Charlottesville Situation. I am in total agreement that some of these white nationalist are morons. They are also a bunch of carpetbaggers that came from out of state to create trouble. This could have been more easily settled without their interference. So in the documentary, I observed a black woman wailing because of the "Great Massa in the Sky" You see him everywhere you go. Oh course, there are statues of Thomas Jefferson all over the place. It's his town. There is also Peter Jefferson Blvd and Martha Jefferson Hospital. If you go to Lexington, Virginia - You will find Robert E Lee's mortal remains, the Church he attended and the University that he started. Stonewall Jackson's gravesite is also there. Folks throw lemons at his grave. Nevertheless, according to Federal Law, Confederate soldiers are considered American Veterans with the same status as the Union Veterans. I am sorry this woman feels uncomfortable with all the reminders of the War Between the States but I can guarantee that she would have more problems in Los Angeles or Chicago than she does in Charlottesville. Somehow, I don't think kicking Thomas Jefferson's gravestone and burning down Monticello is going to solve anything.  Abracadabra  |

Very interesting that the American Right defends the rights of Nazi/Facist/KKK marchers and the Police stood aside to let them pass, while they chanted hate-slogans........in defence of a few tons of cast metal...........Yet a few months before, Native Americans were gassed, tazed, tortured in defense of clean water, in defence of National Monuments that Trump is in the process of handing over for destruction........Talk about fiddling while Rome burns............

If 'Sparky' paid more attention to our Canadian politics, someone might just notice her dribble. She has me blocked from her blogs (& I don't really care) but I wish the heck she'd stop with her continuous nonsense bashing American political views!! She is (supposedly) after all, a Canadian (poor example at that)... she seems better at bashing individuals like you and I!!!

I don't bash "American" political views, ...I agree with the political views of millions of Americans,just not the same ones you agree with.....I also agree with the political views of millions of Canadians, jut not the same ones you do........a situation that you don't seem to understand......
