Work! Bah Humbug!!!!!!

Why is it that Management makes doing my job a major league obstacle course. They are concerned that Staff might be stealing that in order to toss the trash, a manager or lead person has to unlock the trash compactor.

Since I work in produce - part of my job includes getting rid of the outdated or damaged produce and flowers.

The Packaging is recycled and the rotting produce is tossed into a compost bin. This means that I have to remove the produce from the packaging and toss the produce into a barrel. The Barrel are on a pallet which has to be raised with a forklift and the produce is dumped into the compost bin.

I have to get a manager to open the backdoor and unlock the key to the compost bin. The Produce goes on a Data Sheet that has to be initialed by a team leader and signed by a manager.

Now it has been determined that the produce has to be counted before getting thrown away. Soooooooooooooo...............

Today, I asked a team leader to initial the data. She walks away saying I can't do that I have to count it. Dah!

I walked over to the Store Manager and told him the situation. Another team leader came over and we counted the discarded packages. Luckily it was a light day.

Tomorrow, we will be tossing a hundred or more outdated roses.

Afterwards, I wheeled the rotting produce to the receiving area. I told a teamleader that I needed for him to unlock the backdoor and the lock on the compost bin.

He advised me that he can't do it unless he counts it. Dah! It's already been counted but she can't drive a forklift.

Fine! I should have been clocked out fifteen minutes ago but I spent too much time dealing with the obstacles created by management in doing my job.

The Team Leaders are Team Obstacles!!!

I left the barrels of rotting produce by the door and clocked out.

I may end up fired tomorrow which is fine with me.
My car is insured for job loss.
I would love to get out of Charlottesville anyway!

The Store Manager and I will definately have another conversation tommorrow.
