Is Star Guilty of XENOPHOBIA???????????

XENOPHOBIA ....A person unduly fearful or contemptuous of that which is foreign, especially of strangers or foreign
peoples. shamelessly plagiarized c&p from the gOOgleSearch of another member.

I had mentioned in an earlier post that I work with folks and serve customers from a diversity of different cultures and walks of life.

There are Mennonite women with the caps on their heads and the Arab women with scarves covering their hair. Both groups of women are very religious and taught to be submissive to their men. One group creates curiosity and the other group sometimes evokes fear. Yet they are have many similarities.

When I see them, I am just very glad that I am not one of them even when I do get tired of "No Man's Land" and being independent to a fault.

I have to confess that there are some in one group that I find really really annoying. It's the Food Stamp Brigade. I don't begrude the government helping people and preventing them from starving. When I was a single mother, I utilized every resource that I could find to make sure my boys were taken care of including Food Stamps.

What I find annoying is the feeling that we the taxpayers are being taken advantage of. One family had three cartload of stuff. I finally got a flatbed cart, lined it with boxes and started loading the groceries in the boxes.

"Wow! She even puts it in the boxes for us," one customer commented. This is not because I'm a GOOD Cashier, it's because I absolutely REFUSE to put it back in those grocery carts.

Okay so the family needs the food. They purchase more than my entire paycheck and if by chance it exceeds the amount on the EBT - they tell me "Charge IT On the Card." Dang! This is the Discover Card that Sam Issues Special Customers.

Sam won't be issuing Star no card because Sam KNOWS what Star's wages are.

So Sunday, One woman brought two cartloads full of Candy Bars and Cookies, tried to use the EBT card but it was NFG! She tried to CHARGE it on the Card but that was MAXed out too. So we had to put it all back.

It made me question, Is Food Stamps the Stimulus Package for Obesity????

Oh Well, Annoying as it is, I would rather not trade places with the Food Stamp Brigade.

I am healthier because I can't afford junk food and I get plenty of exercise loading it on the flatbeds and I am better off without a Charge Card for the Company Store. Life on Life's Terms.

I sit back and watch in frustration. We are being invaded and conquered without a conflict. To add to the indignity of it, we supply all of their basic needs to boot......

Looking back on history, the time was when the Anglo, the white man, could and did conquer, control and bring to submission to just about any group/country/people chosen. Guess it's "their" turn now. I'm not a historical buff, but, in my memory, I don't recall ever studying a country that voluntarily funded their own takeover.

The "One World" government is calling the shots now, and we don't have much say, if any at all. Globalism is erasing the boundaries between countries, but I doubt that it will erase anything between the different groups who inhabit this earth.

Star, you to me, would not appear xenophobic to any degree. Probably "frustrated, tired of, and disgusted" at the situation might be applicable, if you're like most in the US who have seen this take place.

LOL...having grown up for the first 9 years of my life as Mennonite...I can safely state .....that stereotype is very wrong...even back then. I am sure even more so now days. Maybe Old Order Amish but not Mennonite at all at leats not where I was from.

I have always felt that people should have to work for food stamps and they should be for specific items...not allowed to eat better or worse as they case may be with junk food, than those of us who have worked our entire life! I still remember food lines where they passed out staple foods in our town when I was a young child.

Some believe in destiny, some believe in fate. I believe that happiness is something we create

What an awful situation!

The taxpayer is funding the purchase of Twinkies for the lower class elements when honest, hard working corporate executives are having to give up their limos and private jets. How can a country achieve its full potential when such indolence is rewarded?

The difference between the Mennonites is that they choose a difference lifestyle in American Society but they have strong American Roots. Whereas the Arabs have their own culture and some of them are traditionally Anti-American.

It occurred to me that some folks may be getting food stamps because they lost their jobs but still have their credit cards including the Credit Card from Sam's to supplement their unemployment income.
