Celebrating Thomas Jefferson's 266th Birthday!!!!!! and Star's Monticello Adventures.

Yesterday was Thomas Jefferson's 266th Birthday so they had a party at Monticello and all those candles on his cake made a great big bonfire.

Those who know me well, know that Thomas Jefferson is my Hero. The man was very progressive for his time and the legacy he left was the Freedom of Religious Freedom. My relationship is between me and my God versus the Dictates of the Government.

It was a grand day. I spent time hiking on the Monticello Trail and ignored the long winded dignitaries at the party and opted to explore the grounds. Anytime I get on the Monticello Grounds without paying the 20 dollar fee, I'm happy.

I am a big fan of T. Jefferson as well. I have visited Monticello once not long ago and now that I live in Charlottesville I plan to visit again often. I got my BA in PoliSci and History so living in this area has a very special charm for me. A favorite period in history for me was the Lewis and Clark Expedition (which of course was during Jeffs tenure) and I was very impressed by the artifacts at Monticello from that trip.
