To my Blog/Chat Family and Friends... Before I left for Chicago I said there is a song that I wanted to share with you.. and I am going to post it here... What I love about this song.. is that the people here are so much what the song speaks of... if you ever doubt that your words, prayers or hugs.. encouragement, laughter or sincerity go unnoticed or does not mean anything.. think again! No matter where you live.. no matter if we have met face to face once or twice or not at all.. no matter if you just write what you want to say.. e-mail what you want to share... make that phone call to say you are there for someone.. or even if you read and just hold that person up in the silence of your heart... This song is meant for you! We are all different with different views.. different thoughts.. different Spirits... different ethnic backgrounds... different religious beliefs... different walks of life.. but we all carry the one thread that holds us together... a heart as big as the world we live in... when it comes to caring for each other.. Please understand what I am saying here.. this is a Gospel song... but look past that.. the words no matter if you are Religious, Spiritual, or whatever else you may 'think' you are.. the words to this song... is about what pure Love, Outreach, and Friendship is all about... To me... each and everyone of you represent this song.. you have touched me in a way that you may never could have imagined... Thank you for being who you are... a loving, caring great group of people I am proud to call not only my Friends..but Family... LEAN ON ME by Kirk Franklin There's a man Standing on the corner with no home He has no food and his blue skies are gone Can't you hear him crying out And there's a girl Searching for a father and a friend Praying that the storm someday will end But instead of walking away Open up your heart and say... I am here You don't have to worry I can see your tears I'll be there in a hurry When you call Friends are there to catch you when you fall Here's my shoulder you can lean on me.. There's a Who is sick and begging to be free But there is no cure for his disease He looks up to his mother As she holds his hand Praying that someday The sun will shine again And the pain will end... I am here You don't have to worry I can see your tears I'll be there in a hurry When you call Friends are there to catch you when you fall Here's my shoulder you can lean on me.. How can I love Jesus When I've never seen his face yet I see you dying And I turn and walk away So hold my hand Let me take you to a friend of mine He's waiting just to ease your troubled mind Yet instead of walking away Open up your heart and say.... I am here You don't have to worry I can see your tears I'll be there in a hurry When you call Friends are there to catch you when you fall Here's my shoulder you can lean on me.. _________________________________________ So many of you have reached out to me..as well as others here on SFF.. it is true for those of us who believe in Jesus... we have never seen HIS face... but we have... seen and felt your outreach to others without expecting anything in return... You have helped so many by allowing them to LEAN ON YOU... In my opinion.. you are.. the living examples of what Faith (Roots) are all about... You will always and forever be held deep in my heart.. I am proud to be a part of such a great group of people... Thank you.. Gina ___________ Find the humor each day holds.... Gina |
