I am asking for your honest opinions here... Have you ever read a good book.. I mean so good that you get lost in it? Or seen a movie so touching that it stays in your mind and heart? I mean have you ever felt apart of something that was not part of your every day activity? My thoughts are these... here on SFF we are sitting only in front of a computer screen but yet in the last few days, I have been blessed to fall upon some very hard laughter.. (I know others laugh at what they see someone else type.. I have a very good friend in Australia that used to crack up so hard her family would come into the room just to see if she was ok!) I know I am not the only one who FEELS a bond to some I have never met... If you can get lost in a book.. a movie.. why is it so hard to understand the thought of 'feeling' connected on line? Haven't you ever 'chatted' with someone you never met but they had an impact on your life? And I am not talking romantic.. I am talking just plan enjoyment? I am asking cause I have seen so many state this is just a computer... not real.. do you think the others who are having fun.. goofing around are not as real as you? Even though this is a computer I sit at.. I have had some great fun through the years here in SFF.. Laughter after laughter with someone or about a subject... I for one am glad I 'connect' with others on their side of the computer and their side of the world.. for to me.. if I do not connect.. laugh.. feel... I am not living life to the fullest... (it all comes from within)..for me.. it's all about sharing... and not fearing what others might think or say but just enjoying the moment... What do you think? I guesss.. I wrote this because I have been having sooo much fun here lately! A Speical thanks to Zora.. Bernie.. Peter... Pop.. and Barbie.. for the interactions and making me laugh.. I have not been on Sff that long, a few months, but yes, I have laughed with many, felt sadness, feel close to few...it is a learning experience every day.....12/29/06

I must say where I started here a few short months ago I would have said it is not possible to feel close to strangers that are far away...BUT now I sure feel differently. When I started here I was looking at it as a "dating" site and what I have found is a group of wonderful FUN caring people. It is hard to imagine leaving here now. My day is never complete until I read the blogs and the Christmas Party was a hoot  There are sooooo many wise people here that willingly share their knowledge and outlooks on life. I feel blessed I found SFF even with their quirks and insane censoring seniors from using the S word.My life seems fuller now, I have discovered it is better to find friends than a date REDSome believe in destiny, some believe in fate. Yes, I have met lots of people on this site and have become close to some I haven't actually met in person. I enjoy the interactions and that's the key, for me. Taking it all too seriously does have ill effects on some. It's just like the real world, but there aren't limitations. This is just as real as it gets.

i fully agree with you .... the people we meet on here can bring so much enjoyment to our lives ..personally speaking on this site i dont chat or instant message..i just flit around the magazine and blogs here...lol.... and theres many wonderful people who post in there ...ive made a few special friends on this site also for sure.....however im a member of another site ..a music program where i can sing and cutup with the best friends anyone could ask for and i do have a blast on that site ..i have friends from that site over 6 years now long as i have a computor i will always be friends with them all ...we even call each other n talk ive met probably at least 45 of them at a bash in philly pa...so you bet i do rely upon my computor for lots of fun and just being there to listen many times as theyre here for me also........... people who arent online just dont get it i find! lmbo ....

In the almost 4 years I've been here, I have made some very good friends, a few ennemies and had tons of laughs. Especially these last few months. You don't need to see people in flesh and blood to bond or not with them.

Gina, I think the ones who really are in here just for fun and friendship are the ones who try to make a bash or local get together.I know some can't make the one in FL., but maybe try to just set up a luncheon at a local place and post a blog or contact those in the area and you will be surprised at how much like you they are. I know the friends I have made at the bashes are some of my best friends and I love them all......oh yes, you might get a few quirky ones but the good out weighs the bad ones by far.......met you in 2004 and look now you call me MOM.........lol.........hugs.........Mom Carol "Love One Another, As I Have Loved You" Luke 22:1-38; John 13

Pat.. Hugss... I love you and Joe! The first couple I met on SFF.. the love you hold for each other can't help but shine through for all the world to see.. you know I think you are the cutest couple on SFF!lol.. and ya'll are just as much of a 'hoot' that I am! I may be coming home shortly for a little bit soon.. It will not be for a happy time.. but one of saying good-bye... I may need a little light in my life at that moment.. will you be around?
