I don't miss those brutal cold Midwest winters! It does get cold here in middle Georgia and once in awhile it snows. Grass still shows through the snow and by the next day it is gone.

Having lived in Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois I don't miss snow.

Been there, done that!

Is that Fahrenheit or Centigrade?.....Here it's 8* Centigrade....... ...cloudy and gloomy.......My daughter and I went to a community turkey lunch, about 400 people......It was lovely. We walked so we could pick greenery on our way home for our wreath-making party on Saturday that we host every year .......The daylight seems rather precarious......like it's not sure when it's supposed to show up.....only a couple of weeks until Solstice and the return of the light............

We think it is bitter cold when it gets below fifty here in Middle Georgia and they are forecasting some of this colder weather coming in from the west during the next few days. Bring out the woolens!!! Brrrrrrr……..

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

The last time I would have experienced -15 fahrenheit was 45+ years ago during an extended stay in the Netherlands - too long ago to recall its severity but here's hoping you enjoy the Christmas display regardless/in comfort

NOW YOU KNOW ONE OF THE REASONS WHY I LEFT THE MIDDLE WEST AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK. THIS MORNING IT WAS 41° F AND I PUT ON TIGHTS UNDER MY JEANS FOR THIS AFTERNOON'S BOTANICAL HIKE.
JUST SAYING. KEEP WARM.

Glad you opted to keep warm & cosy
Thankfully the mainland is safe from the fallout on White Island which is approx. 30 miles offshore.  As far as eruptions go, it's of a minor nature but the sudden eruption caught all visitors to the island by surprise with devastating consequences.  Terrible.  Defence force personnel left early this morning in an attempt to recover the remaining eight bodies - very risky as there is a 50% chance of another eruption; very unstable conditions. Thick, low cloud over island at departure would also hamper visibility. Here's wishing them a successful mission and a safe return.  You may know NZ ordered approx. 1,290 sq feet of human skin from USA to help treat severely burned patients.  Those with 90% burns aren't expected to survive; one has already succumbed.
