Single stall unisex restrooms are indeed the answer. I have even seen a "family" restroom in some stores that have the usual multi-stall men/women ones. That would allow a father or mother to take their child to the toilet, or anyone else desiring to go in privacy.
Hospitals in our area have unisex restrooms.

Do your doctor's offices and hospitals have men and women bathrooms? Ours don't. The same room is used by men or women. It is not very frequently that I find urine on the seat or the floor either.
I think men are only messy like that when they are in those multi stall bathrooms that are just for men.

LOL.... so that's how I got so many kids? And I have thought all along it was from the well water we drank. The same vein of water in our area fed the wells for several homes and we all had large families!
As for using the same stall, I've gone into the stall after women and found urine all over the seat, like they stood up and peed, and didn't bother to clean up after themselves!
The solution is to carry a disposable disinfectant cloth with you.

Our hospital has unisex ones, and yes I have found them in a mess, but don't know if a man or woman left it. Women do leave poop in and on the toilet too.... ugh. Usually it is one of those automatic flush ones and if it doesn't flush, I guess they don't know how to do it manually.
The huge hospital that Joe was in in Tennessee did have men and women bathrooms on the main floor near the cafeteria, but the bathrooms on the other floors were unisex. When he was in ICU, I had to use one of those for toileting and washing up and it was usually pretty clean. When he was in a room on the regular floor, I just used his private bath and shower.

Yes I read your response in the other post. One unisex stall would be a good solution but not always practical. I know when I have gone to the theater, there is usually a short time intermission. They tend to have many stalls. If men and women had one unisex stall, the play would be over before many would get back to their seats.

There are some cultures where women do not sit on the toilet seat and instead they stand on the toilet seat when they do their business. I learned that a number of years ago when I was still working. I had never heard that before and found it very strange but each to their own.

They could just add a few unisex bathrooms. That should solve the delimma for the others and even for parents with little kids of the opposite sex.

Honestly, they would have to add about 50 unisex bathrooms for the theatre which wouldn't make sense. I do agree that for small venues, that would be a solution but not in one many stalls are needed in a hurry.

I meant they could add a few in addition to the multi stall ones they already have.

Oh I see. I thought you meant instead of not in addition to.
