I'ts not "overstated for political purposes"........they are outright lies........over and over, Trump and his acolytes spewing lies.........They are being fact-checked in real time.......they know what they are doing.....it's deliberate and consequential.........I don't understand why you and others insist on using euphemisms and not facing the fact that your president lies shamelessly and constantly and doesn't care about the consequences......or is completely unaware and there are those around him who are whores to power that kiss his ass...........

Border security helps a little bit in the short term .. then it's a matter of time until people discover how to go over, under around and through it. So it's useless, the cost is stupid, Trump is stupid. Prosecute employers of illegals FIRST … there might be some bang for the buck there. But wait, that won't work. Trump sells hate and fear.

We do need a wall but a government shutdown is not the way to do it. Never punish the people you are elected to protect. Both sides are at fault on the shut down I know about fences from experience-----Saying they are ineffective is a demonstration of stupidity regardless of who says it. Party On!

A wall (fence) is a one time expense. It can be useful for 20 or 30 years with only a little maintenance. Thus you divide the cost to build by the number of years used. That makes it very affordable. Business 101. LOL The cost of labor (guards) to man an open border is unimaginable! WHAT??? One guard for every 120 feet of border???? Plus calculate the labor intensive cost of how many guards (EVERY YEAR) for the next 20 0r 30 years and into the hereafter. Business 101 Fence is a no brainer. That is why we have fences in Texas rather than stay out there day & night herding the cows. LOL Tunnels can be detected and destroyed easily with little cost. Flood with water or apply the old stick of dynamite theory. We Texans often apply a small electrical charge to a fence to keep the encroachers honest. LOL Party On

Next we will need a stronger wall to keep the Canadians out as well.The Dems want low t o no skilled workers to lower wages here not to mentions the millions of extra vehicles on the roads that are over crowded now...Send them all back. Let Mexico have southern California and call that even.

The "WALL" is a campaign promise "Emergency" and not a National Emergency as he has declared.
