We had 2 cats we named Hairy and Hairy2. The first one went out one evening and never returned. Out neighbor said some critter probably got her. We got a 2nd cat and named her Hairy2. The next door neighbors 2 dogs killed her. I went next door and told her her 2 dogs killed our cat named Hairy 2.. She didn't apologize, only said do you want us to buy you another cat? I bristled and said, why so your damned dog could kill it too?  Thankfully they moved shortly after that!
