You are fortunate that the cut was not worse.
I use a chainsaw often and wonder how you were standing or kneeling in order for the cut to be (straight) across.

Years ago I did somewhat similar but it was to the left hand with a hedge trimmer. Since then I have learned to keep BOTH hands on the cutting device. LOL

HOW ABOUT YOU LET SOMEONE ELSE USE THAT CHAINSAW? SOMETIMES IT IS MUCH SAFER TO PAY TO GET THE JOB DONE.

Well my other hand was holding onto the tree 🤣 but at least it was an electric saw so as soon as you let go of the trigger it shuts off

You can rest easy don't have to be so shaky it's doing fine now didn't even feel that much pain at all when it happened 🤣

Getting a lot better and I will not stay away from chainsaws but I'll learn to keep my arms away from them 🤣🤣

I think you are going to live Steve and won't even lose your arm. You lucky man.

I like using a good electric chain saw because they are lighter than a gas one. It will cut just as well, but managing the cord can be a hassle. I have yet to try a battery powered one. I have an old maple tree that I need to cut down, but I need new chains for all of my 4 chain saws.
