Depending on the criteria that one uses, I can think of a number of countries that are better than the US. If the US is so great , why is there so much discord?

It is not a comparative statement. It is an all encompassing statement within the borders of the country. Raw materials , technology, manufacturing, population, living conditions, The bad , good and the ugly as a whole with no reservation. All things considered the U.S.A is a great country.

Like I said----discord is part of the whole. ALL things considered. Of course there are other great countries. I could name some but I made a positive statement about the U.S.A. In fact it is one of the leading countries in the world and has been for quite some time.
