I failed!!!!!! Instead of spraying with chemicals..I used the suggestion I saw in here. ( trying to be eco-friendly) I placed GRITS where the small ants were parading and in the known spots. WELLLLL.. MY ANTSSSSSSSS are too smart!!!! 2 days later, to my amazement, there were 4 heaps of grits!!!!! Upon inspection, there was the whole in the middle where some ants were still coming out ..each with a granule. They didn't care that I was watching!! Oh! and get this...these ant holes were not there before!! Sooo somehow..these ants traveled some distance to get rid of these GRITS. You might be wondering why I am writing this blog. ASSSSS some would ask.."And we care ..WHY?" silly ! I am doing this as a PUBLIC SERVICE, I am warning those that may have read the prior blog about ANTS and GRITS. Chicago ants are not tricked! They refuse to eat GRITS!!! |

LaC: I've used cayenne pepper - in any/all places where I could see ants coming into my home. Chili powder and/or similar substances have also worked well for me. Couldn't hurt to try, eh?

My mom always put cucumber peels where ants 'hung around'.....seemed to work for her.

Chicago ants are a tough bunch. Rumor is they got started on the South side of Chicago near Big Bad Leroy Browns hang out . Toughest place in the whole damn town. They grew up on PBR and shots of JTS Brown. They have been known to sneer at grits and eat what gags a maggot..Yep they are tough.. Just let em be my dear...
