haha yes I know i have acid reflux bad. i use the peppers sparingly, I like to use the juice from the pepper sauce more than the actual peppers. i use the sauce in cooking cornbread, and lima beans. also here in the south, no true southern er omits pepper sauce from collards or turnips

I've had some Southern things before, was born a Northerner. But I do love grits, boiled peanuts, and a few more things. Never had pepper sauce in my veggies though

Ain't no way I would touch those! I do NOT like hot foods, although I do like the taste of some of the peppers and spices, I cannot tolerate my mouth being on fire. Those peppers even resemble the flames of fire!

I like grits with a little sugar, butter, and milk.... like a cereal, whereas Joe would rather have them with a little butter like a veggie. The first time I saw and tried boiled peanuts, I wasn't sure if I liked them or not. I can eat and enjoy them, but I don't miss them now that Joe can't have them because of the salt.
He loves them. I was so surprised too, when we went to the homecoming football game on his 50th class reunion, there was a peanut vendor walking the bleachers..... he sold roasted peanuts, salted or Cajun, and boiled peanuts, salted or Cajun.... and people were eating the messy boiled ones in the bleachers at the game!
