Hugo  How many thought we'd added another MUTT to our pack?  This time it is the famous French author Victor Hugo. Victor-Marie Hugo ( 1802 -1885 ) was a French Romantic writer and politician. During a literary career that spanned more than sixty years, he wrote in a variety of genres and forms. He is considered to be one of the greatest French writers of all time. Many of you have probably read or watched a movie based on his works...His most famous works are the novels The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1831) and Les Misérables (1862).  This time my blog covers an old French 5-francs banknote issued from 1956 to about 1967.  France suffered though a post-WW II inflationary spiral. To recover some value to their currency 100 old francs would now equal 1-new franc.  Mine came in the mail this morning. I played Martha Stewart mounting and framing it. |

We have weird weather going on outside 48 F... 9 C. Cloudy with a misty rain falling and a light breeze. We are on the edge of a tornado watch area ... the worst is South of us again supposedly. Those old 5 francs banknote can be very pricey as it was the $1 bill of France and prime examples can be $100s.
