TaaVooKee ^!^

Most of us are tired of the same old crap day in and day out. We had a special guest for lunch Friday. We greeted her with a dish of fresh strawberries and a bowl of cream cheese sweetened using honey and seasoned with a hint of mace.

The night before I chunked out some boneless, skinless chicken thighs. I marinated them in a mix of lemon juice, olive oil, a hint of sugar, and corn starch coating each piece in a flavorful goodness thanks to basil, oregano, and fennel. Friday morning I skewered the meat with baby bella mushrooms, onions, green pepper, and tomato wedges.

I mix a cream pitcher of my Mediterranean salad dressing to top this lite mixed greens salad.

I screwed up getting pressed for time forgetting to get picture of mixing the garlic Turkish flatbreads that get cooked on an electric griddle......... my bad.

The shishkabob came out from under the broiled perfectly cooked.

The kabob I served on a bed of fluffy rice. ... Once again I screwed up failing to get a picture of dessert...... a 1930's chocolate cake with cool whip.

By the time she left I was not feeling well. I laid down and slept for 13 hours. JD handled MUTTs Inc. Today was windy and cold necessitating a roaring fire in the fireplace. Think we topped out at 38 F... 4 C .

WoW! hat a fancy meal you prepared for your special guest. Shishkabob is something I have never tried myself but have certainly enjoyed them prepared by others.
Strt will be disappointed about the lack of a picture of the 1930's chocolate cake.

I had spaghetti for my evening meal.

It is good that you were able to get a good long rest after entertaining your guest. You needed and deserved it. JD and MUTTs Inc survived without you while you slept. That is amazing. LOL!
Today it got to 52F here and was pretty windy with mostly cloudy skies. I did get the dog walked for 3.6 km, and I was exhausted afterwards. I had a sit-nap in the other room.
It is supposed to start snowing here around midnight and continue all day tomorrow. Uggh!
