Back at Bretty's

You all know how mean and dastardly I am never baking poor neglected JD anything....

This afternoon I baked JD a cherry pie; probably his second favorite next to apple pie. I assure you this is the easiest way to do it. Have your store bought pie crust up to room temperature, as well as, your pie filling.

Using a deep dish pie plate is the best. Center your bottom crust and poke a few vent holes to prevent the crust from bubbling.

Pour your cherries into your mixing container. Add a 1/2 cup sugar and 2* tablespoons of cornstarch. Blend thoroughly.

Add your can of apple sauce blending again.

Pour your pie filling into the crust.

Center your top crust sealing the lower crust to the top. Cut some vet holes to allow steam to escape. Place your pie into a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes.

Remove your perfect Cherry Pie allowing it to cool on a rack or trivet.

The car said 20 F...-6 C here this morning when I went into town delivering Martin's paycheck and making a deposit at the bank. Closing on the property tomorrow. Drove past the little red Caddy; it is an Allante.IDK milage or price but it is cute for a work car if the weather is nasty so I needn't drive the Mercedes. I was going to hide the pie from JD.... but he walked in and seen it. I don't feel good so we had carry out for dinner.

Lucky JD! Nothing better than a freshly baked fruit filled pie. I'm having dry Cheerios in a mug for my dessert after leftover pork roast on a bun for supper.

It was 12F here at sunrise, then climbed to 45F this afternoon with a brisk breeze from the South. I walked the doggy after lunch, then assembled all the income tax information and got it mailed off to the bankruptcy trustee. That is another headache of my plate.

The Caddilac Allante is a cute car but before you buy it check underneath for transmission oil leaks. The transmissions are weak and prone to leakage and failure. The shift lever can also be problematic.

Carry-out for dinner was a good idea if you are not feeling up to more cooking after working your butt off making pie for JD and preparing the blog for us to view. Take care my friend.

The wind has not abated a bit here with 40 MPH gusts recorded across the state. Your little doggy enjoys the walk... did you share some pork roast?

Thanks Roger I may give it a test drive next week with JD and let him check it over. JD is NOT a Caddy fan at all leaning more towards Lincolns.

A lotta pain tonight and I didn't eat much Pizza either. I brought the box in to dry by the fireplace a day or two. I told Alex to hold off coming out yet... Just can't do it.

Deep dish pies give so much more fruit flavor in every bite.
