Brrrrrrrrrrr !  The weather here in North Central Iowa is CRAP ! The current temp is 28 F ,,, -2 C with the wind HOWLING!  What's a guy to do to stay WARM? I say MAKE CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP !  I chopped my chicken into a rich broth with diced carrots and celery. Opening several boxes I added a variety of pasta shapes. The big kettle made enough so each of the MUTTs had some; Ruby enjoyed a bowl of the soup too. |

We are dead center of a powerful winter storm THE PURPLE AREA on the map. I didn't go into the Ash Wednesday services at the church nor did I do the banking I should have. I'll just call to move the money around. We've had wind gusts over 40 MPH here major drifting. North of us is to get it worse with 8+ " of snow.

sounds like a good day to stay inside our temps went down to minus 16c but it is now up to minus 8c wth blue skies and sun now if it would just warm up enough to melt this darn snow that soup looks so delicious take care and big hugs for Ruby

Yikes! That looks like one nasty storm. Glad you decided to stay off the roads and also pulled your truck driver off. Even though it is not that cold, the wind can have devastating effects on someone out in the open.

Chicken noodle soup is an excellent choice for a cold winter day, and your recipe is superb. I am happy to hear that Ruby enjoyed a bowl of it.

The weather here is much colder. -15F right now with a wind chill nearing -40F. We had a high temp today of only -6F, with a brutally cold NE wind. WInd chill temp will be around -40F in the morning when I head off to the food bank in a town 24 miles from here.
