>>> HOT Fudge Topping <<<

As Promised to my friend Pinkie here is the Hot Fudge Topping recipe for your ice cream! I cut it by a quarter what I make for us. Just put the leftovers in a covered nukeable container.

Start with a tablespoon REAL butter in a medium saucepan over low heat....( not margarine... it won't work... too much water.)

Add a 1/4 cup corn starch and heavy half cup sugar or scant 5/8s cup to the melted butter quickly working it in.

It is best to have all your ingredients already measured out and handy. You need to mix in a 1/4 cup cocoa briskly.

Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla. Stay calm and deliberate but keep a steady rapid pace.

Add 1 1/4 cups milk ( best if Whole milk or add some half & half) Here you get to slack off by blending the milk in with your cocoa mix. Raise the temp to medium high and begin stirring. You may want to also change between your spring coil wire whisk and rubber spatula stirring the mix. IF things start to get ahead of you just pull the pan from the heat.

When the mixture starts to close in on 180 degrees you will notice a "tugging" at the bottom of your pan; reduce the heat to medium and keep stirring.. don't leave it for an instant!

>>> YOU HAVE HOT FUDGE !!! <<<

Grab your ice cream to enjoy every delicious bite... you might even lick the bowl.... *** hangs head in shame *** we do...

JD's still in the shower... I know... hard to believe but yes... he does shower. I been IN & OUT today... Storm approaching JD brought a couple loads of wood up for the fireplace. Had to call mom; I didn't know what the English word for "Sproinger" was.... a spring coil wire whisk.... Grandma taught me how to cook and the kitchen stuff was not in English. *** Ditzy Blond moment *** Major snow storm on the way 5-8" of snow with strong winds. Our temp was 34 F ~~~ 1 C. With things going into the crapper I was able to change the showing to 08:30 to keep us outta harms way. Off to feed JD... Swiss steak and baked potatoes.

Pinkie I try! Always a pleasure chatting too. This is really simple you just have to remember when you start off it is a mad dash till you get the milk in there. I wasn't able to get pictures of the thickening process because you are constantly working to keep it stirred.

Excellent recipe Bret. As much as I love chocolate, I won't be making any for myself. I am still suffering from Xmas belly bulge. With all the ice around I can't get out and walk much to try to lose the weight. Sounds like Pinkie will try to make some tomorrow.

I hope the snowstorm doesn't disrupt your power and communications, and that you are able to get to town if you need to. I'm sure you have laid in supplies so you don't need to go. I trust that your trip to town today to show the apartment went smoothly, and that JD drove you. You were late getting home for diner, I can tell.

The fog finally cleared here and it was 32F between noon and 2pm. I diagnosed and repaired an electrical problem for a neighbor in the morning, and then walked the dog in the afternoon. I have a guest staying for a few days so was not able to get into chat Tue night. We were cooking up a bunch of thick pork chops.

The showing is at 08:30 tomorrow. I selected my sport-coat, shirt, and tie... business informal. Lotta pain woke me. I seen you were not in the LOBBY everyone left so I laid down with JD We are setting ducks in the middle we'll get some snow no matter how it goes.

Pork chops probably were not the only things cooking Gonna watch some TV and go back to bed. A steady 30 F ~~~ -1 C with wet heavy snow predicted.Extra Oxys tonight has me "car sick" ... We are in need of Mustard, butter, and salt... a quick run through the store before I come home. Enjoy your guest ... Alex & I talked for over an hour tonight.. he was lonely in the big city ... not really safe for white boiz to go out after dark without hiring a taxi to & from... can't rely on a ride home late.

Oh that looks so good! Getting my pen and paper to get the recipe before it vanishes!

I don't eat much ice cream anymore, never really did to be honest, but it is a nice treat every once in awhile, and hot fudge sundaes are my favorite!

This will give you that great "Old Fashioned" taste at dessert time. J make it once twice a month around here.
