Sparklefit Took me awhile to find "dowsing" mostly because I had no idea the spelling.... dah ! This guy has pricey copper handled so he just holds them. Dowsing is a type of divination employed in attempts to locate ground water, buried metals or ores, gemstones, oil, gravesites, malign "earth vibrations" and many other objects and materials without the use of a scientific apparatus. IF your battery still has a charge to the light it still may work. I'd suggest the coat hangers. I have copper... Let no one else touch them, clear your mind except for the object, and if stressed try another time. Our 6" water well provides all the water a cattle ranch needs thanks to dowsing. Your thumb needs to be gently placed at the top of the bend in the wire. |

The good old fashioned way of finding water! My grandpa did this to locate water on his property almost a century ago. Here I would have to go deeper than 6' to get to the water. Most likely would hit oil first!

I used some fairly rigid galvanized wire (actually old above ground telephone line) for my dowsing wires and it works great. The trick is to be very relaxed with no distractions when trying to locate underground streams, wires, pipes, valves, etc. and don't allow others to use your wire rods. They become tuned to your specific touch.
