Advice Needed

By this point in our lives we have amassed enough clutter, junk, and not really necessary items, however, I want to know if any of you own or know someone with this ice cream maker. I have all the appliances I require for daily cooking; Nuker, Foreman, pancake griddle, and mixer. Prior to me ordering this I'd like your input.

This is a Cuisinart -46PC 1.5 Quart Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker. JD and I both love ice cream a bit too well but I have some ice cream recipes I can't get in the stores or from the Schwann's man.

Product Description

Now you can make your favorite frozen yogurt at home in just 20 minutes or less! The fully automatic Cuisinart Frozen Yogurt Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker lets you turn ingredients into a delicious and healthy frozen treat with no fuss and no mess. Simply add your ingredients to the bowl, press ON, and the machine does the rest!

Remember that Juicer from TV Nobody could live without??? Yaaa ........ fell for that piece of crap you needed an army to wash up and clean... sets in the pantry with some other crap. Our old ice cream maker... hand crank with ice & salt is shot the canister leaks... It's cranking days are over unless we do it outside. This appliance might just fit on our counter and get used if it cleans easily and does as advertised.

Let me know if you have one or know someone who does and they like it.

Thanks Bret from North Iowa.

Wish I could help, but to be honest, the last ice cream maker I had was the hand crank. Like yours, it started leaking so I tossed it.

I do miss homemade peach ice cream though.

If you do get this, let me know how well it works, or doesn't work.

It is reasonably priced on EEbay for just $60 with free shipping. I don't need another piece of junk tossed in the pantry seldom used. Maybe another member has information on this item.

I go to the freezer at the grocery store and decide what kind do I want for my ice cream cones or in a dish or...ice cream bars.

We have one of these every evening.

I must remember to thank the freezer for "making" it for me

I have recipes for flavors not found in the freezer like a black cherry sorbet... the recipe I'll post in here IF this counter top maker turns out to be a good idea so others may join in on the decadent pleasures.

I have never considered making my own ice cream. It is readily available in a multitude of flavors at the groc store. Like you, my biggest concern with a home machine would be the cleanup. But for the relatively low cost of $60, I think it is worth a try.

It is +3F here this morning. I spent yesterday using my "witching" talents to locate the water line going to the school as well as the curb stop for that line. A specialty locating company from Calgary couldn't find it after 4 hours. My hand made, parallel wire tool found it within 10 minutes. Th village has yet to commence excavation because the exact location of the leak has not been pinpointed. However, another leak was found under the vacant house next to me where the water line had frozen and burst. There was a foot of water un der the house. It had probably been running full bore at that location for over a month. The neighbor's furnace has still not been repaired, but I have rigged him up with several 240V electric heaters.
