Abject failure  After we seen Max & Alex off safely JD & I went into a local restaurant for a fast GRAB & GO lunch This is pretty much the conversation; Cashier; May I help you? Me...Yes.. I'd like a half dozen nuggets, medium fries and a large chocolate shake. Cashier; We only sell nuggets in 6* , 9* , and 12* Me; ( I stood for a ,moment silent unable to honestly grasp the abject ignorance of the English language and lack of basic mathematics ) *SIX nuggets..... JD just looked at me.... and placed his order.  . Our educational system is an Abject Failure ! We are turning out people who are not equipped to perform elementary business transactions. Gawd Help US! >>> DOOM & GLOOM ! <<<  The Ice Storm is coming right at us! |

Maybe his/her brain just made a glitch....I know mine probably would after doing that excruciatingly, mind-numbingly boring job for hours.....days....months.....And who knows what else was going on in her/his life..........trying to make ends meet......and dealing with rude customers and emotional drama.....maybe she/he was trying to figure out how she/he could pay for Insulin and birth control pills or gas for getting to work this month....or emotional drama at home.....who knows.....

I certainly agree with you on the fact that the educational system is turning out idiots whose only skill is knowing how to use a smart phone. I really feel sorry for the kids who lack the basic knowledge to survive in this cruel world.

I'm tired tonight after spending hours in my shop wiring up 240V electric heaters for my neighbor who lost his furnace due to basement flooding. The village foreman still has no plan to deal with the leak that has now totally surrounded the school with ice covered water. I contacted the school division and advised them of the facts so they could inspect the school and see if it is safe to resume classes tomorrow.

I don't know the frost depth here. No digging mhas taken place so we can find out. I a assuming it will only be about 2 to 3' because we had a lot of snow cover on unfrozen ground. The snow is now mostly evaporated, so the frost is going down. digging in frost won't be a problem. The big problem is locating and isolating the actual leak in the line. Water is coming to the surface over a couple block area. There is no definitive spot where it is shooting out of the ground. I think it is a relatively medium size leak that has been going on for a few months and had gradually totally saturated the ground, forcing water to surface everywhere. youtu.be/P-ZjOEk4-dI

I enjoyed this. I have been being trained in by these educated folks.... . One night I broke and said "32 years of experience managing 120 bed units, overseeing and performing care and medications......I think I got this" I do love my job, much less stress.

LOL, don't get me started on the public school system, it stinks!! They give more and more money to public schools that not only produce poorly educated students, but future teachers to continue the dumbing down of the children. It's been going on for decades and the main reason my girls went to private schools. Bush started the "No child left behind" BS, now all our children are being left behind. Temp is 64F right now and the storms missed me yesterday, just got a few sprinkles is all.
