soupe du jour


I spent the day slaving over a hot stove.... I made a Chicken and wild rice soup to die for.
Chicken, celery, carrots, wild rice and white rice simmered most of the day.

 ate way too much soup.....bloated. Just nice to have JD home and harvesting is done for the year.

 While you were making soup, I was making stew from leftovers. Had some for supper along with some squash and whole cooked carrots.

It was too cold to go outside, but I did walk to the post office and to see the little doggy. Blustery SE wind, high of +3F, 1/2" of snow.

I am pleased to hear that the harvesting is complete, and JD is back home to do the home farm chores, and you can get back to your crafts and eBay shopping for rare coins.

Couple chicken thighs, some chicken soup base, a few veggies , and a hand full of rice to make such a special treat. Roger I am pretty .. dizzy/// light headed here tonight... be in the LOBBY or I am going to bed.

 This has been the worst year since we got together... I don't think we've ever gone this long or drawn out.

I am afraid that is a woodstove picture from the net.... I too wish I had one like that. I merely have a parlor stove or a fireplace.
