rich... Rich... RICH!!!

Alex and I found ,many special treasures while out rummaging in the antique shoppes and Thrift Stores.

One item in particular peeked my attention all the way from London England. Directly from the London Silver Vault!

Percy's of the London Silver Vault.... You have to ask yourself....

HOW does a silver tray get from a London Silver Smith to Frigid North Central Iowa?

Not very big... only silver plated.. I screwed up and started in polishing it before I thought to get a picture of how gummed up and tarnished it was.

The back side gave little clue that it was silver either.

The crud and tarnish was so thick you could not read any printing within the trey. HOWEVER.......... For a Quarter............ yaaaa *25* cents...... the fourth part of a dollar... I got a silver trey from Percy's of London !

No matter how I held the camera... adjusting the angle of the lighting I could not get Percy's to come into a good clear focus, however, the red arrow gives a glimmer of the engraving on the surface. Upon checking in Ebay I found a similar trey for $15.. Also a demitasse spoon made by Percy's... Great advertising object to get all the way to Iowa.

A very nice piece and guessing that it is fairly old. I volunteer at a thrift store that supports our small library and we are getting a number of silver donated. It seems that grandchildren do not appreciate the quality and history.

I am afraid the kids don't value silver, crystal, and fine china..... Give them a Happy Meal with the burger wrapped in waxed paper tucked in a cardboard box.........

It's always exciting to rub the tarnish of something and find it is actually a quality item. Good eye, Darter.

It's very NW windy, snowy, blowy here tonight. 17F and falling. The little doggy went home to her dad tonight as he has returned from Calgary. I had a Thanksgiving turkey dinner today, and will have another tomorrow.

Don't exactly know what I will do with it.... just a puzzlement as to how it got here in a Thrift store from a Posh London Constabulary.

Been to Centerville MANY Years ago... it is nowhere near "Center" of anything that I could see.... LOL! Just like "State Center" Is MILES away from the center of the state!..../ You need to ask just what map these people were using when they came up with these names.
