aaaaw Fiddlestix ! ~~~~ Edited ~~~ Just when I think I may "retire" from my lawn work... Mutha Nature decides to send some gusty breezes for a couple days taking the top out of an old Boxelder Tree in the East end of our lawn. I went out with the old JD225, drug the offensive branches up to the brush pile, and then cut several nice chunks from the offending bough for the fireplace. Oooooops !!! The third picture of the wood for the fireplace didn't load.... |

The guys got Spaghetti & meatballs with my home made sweet Sicilian Marinara and garlic bread with melted Mozzi cheese... I am almost too bloated to even set at the desk and type this.... Pleasant day for cloudy & breezy it got up to 70 F ~~~ 22 C here and I worked up a bit of a sweat cleaning up the mess from the lawn.

The broken tree branch gave you a break from the garage door opener that was giving you trouble. Good work, and now some nice wood for the fireplace.

Spaghetti and meatballs with cheesed garlic bread is an all time favorite with a whole lotta folks. I'm sure it was enjoyed and gobbled by the crew.

That looks like great wood....dry and dense.....Living off-grid for a couple of decades, so I appreciate good fire-wood. We built our house with the chimney going through the middle and had this high-tech wood-fired stove that was accessible from both the kitchen and living room. On the kitchen side it was a cook-stove with an oven above and on the side and a top-loading stove top.....On the living room side it had a large window so we could see the fire...it had flues to concentrate and direct the heat.......I loved that stove.....it was the beating heart of our home.

A beautiful pile of wood there, Darter. Nothing like a real good open fire, so relaxing to sit at. I don't have one anymore

Ok Roger Quarter after 11 here and I am going to bed... No more chatting in FF if they can't be bothered to help me out when I need it.

LOTS OF FOLKS GOING TO USE WOOD OR WOOD CHIPS FOR HEATING THIS WINTER. I DO NOT HAVE A FIREPLACE AND WILL HAVE TO DEPEND ON ELECTRICITY AS ALWAYS BUT AM EXPOSED DUE SOUTH AND VERY OFTEN CAN TURN THE HEAT OFF DURING THE DAY. HOW ABOUT YOU GET SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE GARDEN WORK FOR AWHILE?

Sorry Bret. I was stuck in front of the TV until 11 and then went in F chat for 45 minutes. I'll look for you in the lobby of this site tonight after 9 pm MDT.
